Its more than that IMO. charisma isn't needed in the booth, because even in her studio recordings...they miss the mark. She hasn't had that one song that's a hit either commercially or even just that (cliche Oh snap thats my song) that has you grooving to every time you hear it.

I forgot to add Amy. That girl can sing. It's a damn shame she couldn't get a handle on her addiction. Music world really lost a great talent.
Lol yeah Hudson does sing loud. I grew up in church and love gospel so her voice does it for me.
Im from Southern Louisiana and grew up in a Missionary Baptist and that maybe why I cant listen to her
our church had some horrible choir singers who yelled every lyric

on the not great part. Her vocal control is TOO great not to be considered great. but you are right...she has a lane & isn't very versatile either.
When it comes to putting on a SHOW
Beyonce is number 1.can sing, dance, fill up a stadium with her voice, can wild out & still maintain discipline. Can be dope..then classy. Uses props...does everything good. I can't hate
2. Fantasia. she's just a crowd pleaser, versatile vocally can sell just about any song, has dopeness...lacks classiness. can't dance, more of a homerun hitter, constantly swings for the fences (can knock it out the park but at the expense of lacking major vocal discipline...but Commands the stage and audience like none in the game right now.
I haven't seen Adele in concert so I can't comment on her show, but that VOICE is beast....and great enough to entertain anyone with an ear.
3. Jhud...is like watching paint dry in concert. Has poor stage presence & can't entertain you outside of her singing...but only knows how to sing in one dynamic...loud.fills the arena up.
Lianne La Havas (beautiful voice, maybe the best in the game right now) great control, soothing. Haven't seen her live in concert either so I can't judge her show or how versatile she is.
Adele's voice, songs, albums and performances are all great.

Adele is a great singer, but her claim to fame is her unique tone.
Beyonce has her beat in range and her overall technique.
Beyonce is actually the most proficient vocalist in the game. She doesn't have the best instrument ala Whitney or Mariah, but she gets the most out of it.
And that works, since her main comp is Katy and Rihanna, since Katy can't sing, and Rihanna has a nice tone but sounds like a goat.
Liane la Havas has a better voice than all of them.
Check her resonance and breath control, and the thickness of her tone.

ugh... this thread makes my stomach hurt... Adele is "good" and yes her lack of pigment make people overrate her. Just like Beyoncé's beauty make people overrate her... But the larger issue is that popular music has become so shytty that these 2 are considered legendary amongst their peers.
