Sure there's people that can sing just as good or even better, but they didn't have the songwriting Adele had, or the marketing/buzz she had.
And she didn't get the buzz for being a white girl, if anything they couldn't even market her the way they wanted cuz she's a big chick.

Privileged in relation to people who grew up to a crackhead yes, but to the average western world person she's not very privileged.
Adele is a great singer, one of the best out. But the album was a 3.5 mic album maybe 4 mics on a good day, the first album was better. Not close to Channel Orange though as far as soul music goes.

MOP was bragging about one of their albums being one of the most stolen and bootlegged albums in the country at one point.
Now, we STEAL and BOOTLEG everything.
how can nikkas complain about a soul album not selling when 800k were downloaded and burned....

And no, I don't care about sales. An artist gets like 13 cents an album AT THE MOST on a major....
but gets 30k-100k a show tax free doing 200 shows a year.
