Kartel ruled Kenyan highschools between 2012 and 2017 too, all generations know of him since he has had such a long run and reinvents himself, blakakartel, di teacha, cakesoap, addi innocent immediately after incarceration, etc. The blakakartel you know, unless you were a strict dancehall fan, most 20yr olds don't. They know him from he became the teacher and left Bounty.

Yeah, but in my response to the post I was replying to, kenyan youths know their dancehall, one of the hottest songs right now is a 90s dancehall sample, see the references from beenie to kartel and bogle dance moves in the 1st verse from a young artist

Millenium artists from Konshens to Busy would tell you Kenya supported dancehall heavy when at their peak. A sad thing Kartel never got a chance to come while at his peak.
