I think black people just need to get acquainted with, and become comfortable with, the concept of mediocrity. Because most black people, like all people, are average and mediocre. Most of us do not possess the skill-set/talent/connections...whatever required to afford us the lavish lifestyles we see plastered all over the media. Its sad to see so many black men and women turn their nose up to the idea of being average and having an average life/relationship. Life is not a movie. Its not a music video. Its not a TikTok. Life is real. Real hard. And few people can do it alone. You have to be realistic. You have to be okay with the idea of being mediocre.

The Truth
It's telling when Kendra ask when was the last time they had sex, and it's always within the last 2-4 months. But yet, they still single. So why you letting men smash, then stepping back out in the dating field looking to put requirements on men? This is why a lot of these cats be checking out. I'm sure the last dude she let smash took $20 from her purse while she was in the shower.

The more money you make, the more expenses you have (even though you said yours are relatively low) and it will seem like you're not making much.

I remember being poor. Dirt poor. Like, poor as in I didn't have 10 bucks to my name sometimes. My bank account was always overdrafting smh.

And a couple years later, I was making 5 times what I had been making and... it didn't seem like that much. I felt like I was still struggling. :dahell: Had me poring over old receipts to see how I was making it before, cause now that would seem impossible to me.
Right I was the same way.

A few years ago, I was in college(graduated in my late 20's making) making 20k a year, working part time. My account balance would be in the negative at times.

Truth is now I save more than half my income in a month now, between savings and investments, yet it still feels like it's not enough.

You know I talked with my therapist about something like this.

Because it's a trend I keep running into.

And she didn't have a clear answer for it, beside acknowledging that it's a problem and fukked up.

Basically what I said was:

I keep running into broken women, who are hurt from previous relationships. Skeptical as fukk about me and my intentions, despite me always being straight forward as fukk. As well them not having any recollection of any wrong doings that I've done or treated them incorrectly.

Every chick I've dealt with, we've had amicable splits. And they said it was refreshing that we ended on good terms and they all admit that I treated them good. The splits were largely due to being in different places in life. Like I needed to focus on school, and they wanted to have kids pretty soon(yeah right :mjlol: )

In summation it's like women want to me go through all these steps to prove myself, and even when I did sometimes, I'm still met with the same skepticism like I was dogging them out the whole time.

The reality is, I've been in school most of my adult life and working part time jobs, while doing so I can establish myself.

Yet all the women I come across have extreme baggage like kids, depression, anxiety and a history dudes treating them badly.

Yet I'm supposed to pick up the pieces, despite being met resistance.

That's why I kind of just check out of dating, at least women my age. So that's why I don't 30+ dudes for dating younger women. Older women have a lot more damage from heartbreak and are more skeptical, in a way that can be self sabotaging.

A lot of older women, are a bad investment marriage wise, because mentally they're broken and the only real benefit is maybe access to sex. Which can be had without a relationship.

She’ll find somebody. 90-100k aint unreasonable
:heh:

An angle i didn’t even think about: my down south brethren feel free to correct me but you don’t even have to make that much to live like a king out there. So her arbitrary amount shows delusion

I have a homie in Atlanta who moved there before the explosion. He works at the airport but has a 5brdm house. Rents rooms to his homies so he has no mortgage. He BEEN a ’passport bro’ for years bc he got money to burn

I wish females who glowed't up.
After never being the toast of their area would stop acting like they were a catch and not face reality. They were a Reggie mid ass sammich.

It be the most never was on shyt and just figured out how to look chicks. Trying to make it.
like they were the baddest since elementary and they need to completely check that bullshyt. On lemme go around another pool of people and get a new identity face ass.
The problem in general with most females who glowed't up is as of late in the social media era is. They just now noticed how to create interest just now. Plus never socially learned how to interact with a mate. As they are green and never gave no one a chance. Simply because they sheltered homebodies at the very very least. when just now is twenty sumfin. While they are trying to compete against. the females everyone wanted since birth. some goofie fukked up. As real talk. In our community. The best and brightest are snatched up. by at least seventh grade to junior year of high school and at least in my experience in Chicago. Those top tier women were and are never gonna be single.
Simply cause the brother who got up with the top tier. really not dumb enough to fukk that up. Like f'oh real f'oh real. No bullshyt. The baddest imo from my high school. Dude ain't fukk'n that up ever.
So the females in our community.
who are single are glowed't ups.
who have to provide incredible social tranquility. Yet are incapable of doing that. Simply because they became gassed later in the game and do not realize.
that shyt is green and outputting as fukk.
Not to mention. Every black man who did not net the top in that early period. Knows the baddest are not ever gonna be available. So we are not gonna put up with a glowed up also-ran trying to flex.

It is what it is.

Very true.

That’s why you can tell who gets it and who doesn’t. Male or female, you are an absolute FOOL and goofy if you are up and down social media doing all this “flexing”, especially if you’re older. All this shyt lives forever online, but these ppl are so attention starved they don’t think clearly.

If you’re that chick you don’t have to display it all over SM because you don’t need the world to see all the men getting at you/in your DMs. You understand the importance of humility because you’ve dealt with enough haters- male and female.

And if you’re a dude who’s getting it you don’t have to display it all over SM because you already know all you’re going to attract is women who are literally drawn to your money. If you have the money + status (+ looks) you don’t have to say it because it’s evident in how you conduct yourself.

A lot of folks got the rules to the game a little late. If they all paired up with each other the drama would be over. Have kids and teach them what you learned too late.

terms like average,.standard, mediocre, satisfactory should not have negative connotations to them. Understanding that in most aspects of life, you will probably be average despite whatever version of Tyler Durden you fashion yourself to be.

This part isn't true and money being tied to a man's worth is why. This is what brehs wanted to argue me down on. Every man making bread does not make it or demonstrate it the same way. Flexing is basically what men have to do to demonstrate.

Flexing to a certain extent- YES, I get it.

But for example, the guys ppl call “passport bros” (obviously not all BM who travel). There’s a thread with some dumpy looking breh throwing $ around some strip club in Thailand or something. THAAAAAT ain’t wavy. And he’d know it if he were “that nikka”.

But of course, you don’t have to hide your success as a man, but you can tell when a man is that dude and when a guy is flexing or pretending.

Eg: as a girl in the club, when you walk up to the bar and all of a sudden the men standing around start pulling out money and talking about moves they’re making, etc when none of that was happening 2 seconds ago- that type of stuff is corny and obvious.

I don't disagree about passport bros broadcasting too much, but that's only an issue because of the paradigms in what a "passport bro" is in their hometown in the first place. If they were throwing money in a strip club in ATL/MIA/HOU/DET or wherever they're from, it would be no issue.

What is "that dude"? I don't really think there's a real indicator of pretending other than what his total assets/portfolio is which is not something disclosed in immediate/early situations.

Your last example is doing too much but that's always going to happen. We can't place a premium on a man's earning/wealth then feel some kind of way when that's his ticket. For those who are more 5'8" Jordan Peele than 6'3" Odell they're more inclined to go that route, and they kinda have to because the sex appeal won't be there. We're not sensual equals to women who can apply make up, throw on a tight/scant $100 outfit and sit and be quiet.
