That is true the right are going even further right with the Qanon conspiracy theory. They are going more and more nuts than even the tea party. In a few years Ted Cruz and Tom Cotton will be seen as moderates the way the party is going. Outright white nationalism is taking the heed n the party. White boys being radicalized by alright forums and shyt. What is horrifying is if another republican wins the White House that person will be radical than Trump and likely more competent and Machiavellian. This isn't sustainable for the country. Also we have to look at the source of why the Republican Party is getting more and more radical. One is white folks economically are declining. Look at the midwest a former reliable part of the blue wall and you see the rise of far right candidates. Economically the midwest and the rural areas in the south, and west is getting worse. They feel they are losing their country. Hence why they blame other races for the source of their problems. Secondly is declining birth rates and increasing birth rates of minorities. They see the trajectory and realize they will be a minority within 2 decades. Minorities make up the majority of children under the age of 16. And the last five years minority babies have been the majority born. White conservatives are fearing their position and power is going to be taken away from them. Then you add to that growing income inequality it makes a toxic base for why the republican base is getting more and more riled up. People may call it hyperbole or fear mongering if things stay the way they are we will see a civil war within the next 15-25 years from now. They will rather have this nation burn into ash than accept their time is over.

Today's Republicans forgot what "conservative" actually means.

The GOP voters who are actively racist (like the ones on "America First" twitter) keep talking about shifting the party in a "populist" direction, but their candidates (like Kobach and Sessions) seem to be losing. If Trump loses in November, their arguments (about needing to shift the GOP further to the right on cultural issues) hold even less weight.

That's why democrats should just end the filibuster. You can't play by the rules as another party actively sabotages government and the country in order to win. They did everything they could to oust Obama, and even after it failed they continued to obstruct (including blocking his judge picks until Reid decided to end the judiciary filibuster).

Ending the filibuster is dangerous but needed. Republicans as a party have no interest in passing real legislation outside of tax breaks. If they lose the senate in November and regain it at a later time, they will spend their time dismantling the things democrats passed. But it can only work if there's a republican president in place, and they have the House too. This creates a situation where every election becomes essential/important. Maybe that's what we need, because as things are now...not enough people vote. If voting truly determined whether you got your food stamps/student loans/healthcare/etc every 2 years...maybe more people would vote.

I don't see that happening. One is if Trump loses he will spread the narrative that it was rigged and that the deep state democrats cheated to win by having illegals/felons/minorities vote. His supporters/the base will eat it up. Plus they saw that McCain and Romney who were moderate conservatives lost to Obama. And Trump beaten Hillary and in their eyes that was a "referendum" on Obama even though Hillary won the popular vote. In their eyes this justifies their belief that going far right is the only way. The base runs the party and its unlikely moderates will bring the party back to the center anytime soon. You already see how far right they are going. This Qanon shyt is much more fringe than the Tea Party. Plus talk radio, Fox News and right wing social media groups aren't going away. Add declining birth rates, declining economic standing and conspiracy theories they aren't going back to the center. They will have to lose in 2020,2024,2028,2032 and 2036 for them to wake up. And even if they somehow wake up by 2036 demographically it will be too late.

I wouldn't say the Republicans have broken Politics.

I would say that it's the fading power of White Nationalists that is causing a change. They are the people who complain having to conform to other's culture, or say things like, "I hate Rap music! Why do Blacks always flaunt their money!"

Its from that fear that they look for people on Facebook/Twitter, for people who agree with them. They form their own personal bubble, a comfort zone to expel their nationalistic views and then get angry when they get called out on their racism because it should apply to "Freedom of Speech."

With that, you get QAnon, where you get people who are either crazy or looking to make cash, by using their money/fear to get power themselves. In a normal section where Democrats wins easily, they are nobodies. However in Heavy Republican areas, with more of society turning them away, they look at QAnons more favorable and old-time Republicans as people who are betraying them; part of the swamp.

In the end it just comes down to White Nationalists and the concept of power/influence/and entitlements. They want to be 1st Class, they want to be special.
