Admitting to myself that I'm just decent at most things but not a champ at anything

But you always imagine yourself as being the best SOMETHING one day.

I am getting up there agewise.

I have become something of an expert at a couple hobbies but never "that dude".

With certain things, yes. There's always gonna be someone better, just focus on you. Most people never let themselves get good at anything because their ego can't handle being bad/mediocre at it in the beginning. I know people who are paralyzed by that.

Mastering things is overrated. If you must be an expert on something, master your self. Cause at the end of the day, self mastery is all that really matters.

Dumb people tend to only be able to excel at one thing from my observations.

Even being halfway decent at everything tends to put you ahead of the average person too. I'm not especially skilled at anything in general, but I'm always the person that gets called when anybody needs something figured out or built.

It sounds like your a champ at being a competent person, that's something to be proud of. Especially these days

I do feel as if I could do pretty well at almost anything.

I've advanced at jobs cause of my willingness to hop in and get it done, even if I didn't quite know where to begin

how much time and effort are you putting into things that you are into? People who are great st things work super hard for it.

I would say that I am an expert MC (we're talking Classic Hip Hop not Contemporary) but nothing ever popped.

Popular music has passed me by such that I have no desire to rap to the new style of tracks. I only feel at home on 90s East Coast beats.

Niqqas have advised me to listen to new stuff and update my style.

Disgusting to those of us who remember when biting was a sin. I'd rather just quit trying to pop than become 99 Savage.

I have dabbled in other artistic stuff like making beats and writing screenplays - which I haven't put n the 10k hours admittedly - but it's middling at best.

Oh I was all in for the better part of 20 years.

Good writer but never had the "it" factor
