This 100%.
If Adrian focused on grappling with him, he probably kills the white boy. 6'2" 215 and probably all muscle....just spear that dude like Kurt Angle and call it a day.
No need to trade licks. At least keep your hands up.
Funny thing about it is if done right, size kinda goes out the window. That's how LBs with good technique can routinely win battles vs O Linemen at the point of attack despite being outweighed by 50 or 60+ lbs.
The former HC at Illinois in the mid 90s, a guy by the name of Lou Tepper, wrote a masterpiece of a book called Complete Linebacking. It's a coaching Bible. In the chapter on dealing with blocks, he tells a story on how he would bring his young son to camp with him. He would have this 13 or 14 year old kid get his hands in the proper positioning on a LB (who's standing straight up), keep his butt low, then have the kid drive and control this big, country strong, Division 1, Big Ten LB. His son would push, pull, and do whatever he wanted to the athlete. It was a lesson that humbled them and let the lesson of why perfect technique is virtually unbeatable sink in.
Tepper, at the time, was one of the foremost defensive coaches in the country. He produced Kevin Hardy & Simeon Rice. He knows football on a technical level inside and out.
I adopted that when I coached LBs at a JUCO, but used a female manager instead. Made those cocky, lack of technique having, D1 wannabe fukk-sticks realized they better listen to me real quick.
