People of that generation were more respectful and well behaved because they knew they would be beaten if they got out of line. Slaves were also very respectful and well behaved. That's no way to live and no way to raise intellectually inclined kids.

I can make a list of well respected Presidents, Scientists, Physicians, Lawyers, Civil Rights Activists (including Dr. King), athletes, entertainers, teachers, scholars etc. that were spanked as children. Slaves were beaten that is a big reach. So if you want to tell me that it doesn't work then go back to the drawing board and come up with a better answer.
It always makes me laugh when I see the "we do it better" generation. The only thing that has changed is technology. The people are worse.

The only thing I am defending is spanking NOT leaving welts on kids, that is beating. But those of you that come out on some "spanking is primitive" shyt sound like sheltered cacs. There are a whole generation of kids out there who have never been in a fight or have never even bad a finger laid on them by their parents. I don't know if this has been mentioned yet, but what happens if Rusty Hardin has some scans taken of AD's brain and it's a mess like Chris Henry or worse?

He was allegedly disciplined like this as a child and he's been playing football for 15-20 years. Who knows how many hits he's taken over the years and what kind of mental damage it's done to him.

I'm not excusing what he did, but it would be interesting to see if a link could be made.

A little kid who is NOT a psychopath can be reprimanded effectively in a far less violent manner. AP's own texts indicate that he knew to put naughty kids in time out and that he regretted beating the kid so severely.

When the 2yo was murdered last year, a baby mama of AP tweeted that he had 5+ kids. WHO ARE THESE DUMB ASS WOMEN who keep 1. having AP's sons and 2. leaving them in AP's unsupervised custody? Remind these chicks that they can't collect child support if their kid is dead. Maybe that'll wake them up.

This 4yo boy is becoming violent like AP. The boy scratched his 5yo sibling's face and shoved said sib over a video game? Leaves in the mouth? Punched in the face? A little kid wouldn't know to make up such acts. Either someone fed him lines to recite or...it actually happened. Well, I hope the little guy heals fully, gets therapy, and develops normally into a healthy youth.

Adrian Peterson put his child at risk for minor injuries while disciplining him. No attempt to cause serious bodily injury...

Two different cases, laws, intentions...

I actually think many of the folks reacting so hard to the ethical side of what AD did that they will be surprised at his legal punishment, maybe even disappointed...
