:heh:

Any time I've ever gone to court, the judge has been late. Judges are just egotistical a$$holes from my experience.

I'd agree with your assessment if the courts were done well oiled machine. But they're not, they're generally extremely inefficient and a gross waste of time.

And let's not act like the judge was twiddling his thumbs waiting on dude. Typically, they call your case and if you're not there, they charge you with "failure to appear" and move on. If your counsel is there, your lawyer can plea with the judge that you're running late and he may agree to move to other cases until you arrive. The judge is the one wasting time and resources by even sentencing him to those 30 days.
I'm not arguing about whether it's right or wrong for judges to hate wasted time. I'm simply stating that this is the norm.

My main argument is that if I was supposed to appear for a criminal case, and there is a possibility of jail time if I fail to appear, nikka I'm there. Crying about the justice system because I failed to appear when I had the means to be there won't help any.

Not the same thing. you missing the point bruh, you don't understand :mjlol:
Nah not missing the point.
I understand your point , I disagree with you completely. That is all it is.

Aight breh :heh:

Have a criminal record like AB's, then show up to court late and hungover. What do you think would happen to you friend?

Depends on which friend. If its my friend who I went to school with who is the daughter of the former state governor I doubt that would happen.

Breh are you reading @Originalgangsta317 's post in reverse braile or some shyt?
read it, its arguably what he said, you both don't seem to know what you are actually advocating and supporting.

30 days because the judge wants to grandstand and stroke his ego.
Get the fukk out of here trying to justrify this bullshyt.
This case wasn't for some damn traffic ticket. Look, I know that judges can be dikks. They can be irrational and such and don't care that others know it. But when you have a pending criminal case that carries jail time, it's not wise to blow it off because you were partying the night before until the early morning. There are much better examples of judicial misconduct and the system being against the black man.

In some jurisdictions, a courts issue bench warrants if a defendant misses or is late to court. At that point, you could be taken into custody until the next court date. It is in the judge's discretion whether or not they rescind the warrant and it appears that it didn't happen here.

This may be a situation where AB has had numerous occasions where he either was late or missed court. At any rate, this shouldn't have happened. Sounds like the judge felt like he wasn't taking the process seriously. Also, his lawyer should have contacted the court and told them he was running late. This is the lawyer's fault.

The case was being dismissed and it wasn't because of the judge's opinion, its because lack of chance of success for prosecution and weak case. Period.
It is entirely seperate from a contempt of court 30 day sentence.
Yes this judge is irrational and ego driven and they flexed, instead of trying to go out your way to justify it, largely because of who they flexed on, you need to look at the big picture and notice that judges having the ability to "flex" on anyone is a fundamental problem with this system.

What does your being to jail and prison have to do with judicial grandstanding?
Nothing.

Actually it doesn't.
You going to jail and prison means jackshyt because we aren't talking about you.
You aren't AB, what worked for you won't necesaarily work for anyone else.
On top of that, the discussion with me isn't about AB, but about the actions of the judge and his grandstanding.

I see now why you are confused though, and there is really nothing more left to say if your only reply is you have been to jail and prison, as if that means anything other than you have been in jail and prison.
