You're misjudging the AEW fanbase. They got excited for the Pizza Guy, War Horse, Nick Gage, and everybody from Japan. They'll definitely pop for British wrestlers who have actually appeared on television.No one knows who Mariah May or Nick Aldis is
If its not someone at the level of Edge or Sasha then they shouldn't even bother doing a surprise debut today.
You may not know them, but that crowd absolutey will.

This gotta be the coolest moment for those wrestlers that have never done a stadium show or may have never gotten the opportunity to so if it wasn’t for AEW.
Also the American AEW fan base knows about the NWA, MLW, NJPW, Revpro, Stardom wrestlers. It's not like when they debuted Butcher and Blade and the original Dark Order
You know they shytting themselves because they never thought they would be in this moment and the only way to get that moment was if they were to go to WWE

There's a few E-stans in here wishing the worst on the show but the wrestlers themselves absolutely love the fact that TK was able to pull this off. More opportunities and more pay for wrestlers.
