AEW Women's Tag team Champions

Tony Khan has stated that the women's tag team title belts have already been created, and that he is waiting for the appropriate time to start the tournament. I'm curious to know whom you guys think should be the inaugural champions.

I'm leaning towards Penelope Ford and Megan Bayne.

^^They could be solid choices. Bayne would look great with some gold and Penelope is an OG in the division, who might not be a singles champion.

Depends on who all is in the tourney.

Tay Melo/Anna Jay and Triangle of Madness seem like locks. Harley paired up with anyone would well as well. Does Mercedes find a tag partner to capture even more gold . Has Statlander turned heel yet and joined the Deathriders, for a pairing with Marina. Do you do a British connection with Windsor/Hayter or a Black babyface connection with Willow/Aminata. Do Toni/Mina link up?

Lots of options to play with, depending on where the main and TBS title are.

Had TK gotten off his azz sooner, DMD and Hayter would have been a great team.

Said it before, but group them into Trios and have them fight for tag belts with Freebird rules so every team can survive an injury.

So many options right now and the women need another belt to pin some angles too.

I'd go with Megan/Penelope inaugral, use them to build a plucky underdog Harley/Someone team feel good moment for a big show.

Harley stays getting her brains bashed in. Team her with Serena Deeb, and build the story around her getting better and more confident so that they can knock Ford/Bayne off the top.

I still think Ford and Bayne are the best choice to be the first champions, but after seeing recent editions of Collision and Dynamite, it looks like either Tay/Jay or Willow/Harley will get the nod.

I would say everybody still could be in play. They really haven't mentioned much since announcing the tag-belts, haven't even confirmed a tournament yet.

Wouldn't surprise me if it doesn't get started till after Blood & Guts in November.

Julia and Skye are due some spooky shine too. It's a really healthy division, they just gotta get the b*stard started.

Good to see they announced the bracket will be revealed on Dynamite.
