who are these top 5 QBs?
Outside of Rookies...there isnt an NFC with a bad QB lol. Eli Manning is literally the worst QB in the NFC these days after Mitch Trubisky who im sure will improve.
AFC? Outside of Big Ben, Phil RIvers, Alex Smith and Tom Brady there really aint shyt
The whole rest of the conference has been pretty terrible overall since 2001 aside from Pittsburgh. Peyton’s teams hardly ever had both a capable defense and running game, only getting him a good defense in Denver when he’d lost his fastball and was too hurt to throw with any effectiveness his last two postseasons. His last 4 years in Indianapolis, the best league ranking they posted in rushing yards per game was 18th and their best in yards per carry was 22nd. The last three seasons he played there, they finished 27th or worse in yards per game and yards per carry on the ground, and they finished dead last in both of those categories two years straight. Between the colts and Broncos, they posted one season from 2007-15 where the offense finished better than 20th in yards per carry. Let’s take a look at the rest of the conference.
AFC east:
The rest of the east has been bad enough they should be contracted. The bills, jets, and fins have 8 combined playoff appearances from 2001-2017. They have combined to make it two times since 2011. They have 5 combined playoff wins since 2001, all by the jets. 1 in 2004, 2 in 2009, and 2 in 2010. They have a combined 2 division titles since 2001. All three of these teams are below .500 overall since 2001. Over an 18 year span, the second best team in this division has been the jets

. That should say a lot about these three.
AFC south:
Houston has never had a good team and good quarterback play/a healthy quarterback in the same season. Jacksonville has what, maybe 3 playoff appearances since 2001? The titans made it this year and I think this was their first time since 2008 and their second time since 2004. Who has coached them since fisher got fired? Have they ever had a good coach? The colts always suck if their quarterback isn’t healthy since they can’t ever play defense or run the ball. I think it’s 3 years in a row they’ve missed the playoffs since their success hinges entirely on Andrew Luck going Superman while they don’t provide him with a defense, running game, or offensive line so he doesn’t get hit so much. I think they last ran it well when Edgerrin James was on the team, and the two years they had a good defense, it forgot to show up in the playoffs with the season at stake. They haven’t had a good coach since Tony Dungy retired after the 2008 season.
AFC north:
The browns have one playoff appearance since the 1995 season started and none in the last 15 years. 1-31 in the last two seasons. They should probably be contracted by this point. Pretty sure the bengals haven’t won a playoff game since the 80’s. The ravens haven’t had a good coach since 2007. John Harbaugh is basically the new Jeff Fisher. He is so clueless that he throws his players under the bus even when his DC calls a prevent defense while up 3 with 2 minutes left (this happened pretty regularly in the last six years) and never seems to actually even form a game plan from week to week or make any adjustments at all. His ravens are 19-44 against teams that make the playoffs during the regular season. They’ve also gotten progressively shyttier since 2013 every year, making the playoffs just once since 2013 and winning the division just twice since 2008.
AFC west:
Denver was mediocre from 1999-2008 under Shanahan and mediocre to bad from 2009-11 with McDaniels and John Fox, who had to clean up a mess so bad that you’d think McDaniels trashed the franchise on purpose and that

planted him there like a sleeper agent. They won 2 playoff games total in that 13 year span. I think they had 2 seasons of good quarterback play that stretch, and their offense has been ass cheeks the last 3 years I think. Pretty sure they missed the playoffs last year as well as this year. Oakland has one playoff season in the last 15 years and they lost their quarterback in week 16 that year. The chargers brought norv turner to coach when they had a championship window. They have one playoff win since 2009 and it was against the bengals

. This leaves us with the chiefs, who were mostly terrible before Andy Reid and under him are known for disastrous playoff meltdowns. I think they’ve won 2 playoff games since Joe Montana retired after the 1994 season.
Looking at all this paints a pretty bleak picture for the conference. Essentially the steelers are the only other franchise for nearly the last 20 years in the entire conference that’s been any sort of consistent and good. The rest are flooded with bad front offices, bad quarterback play, bad coaching, or some combination of them.
