fail to understand that if you could somehow hold on for a several hour flight at high speeds that you would die of lack of oxygen then freeze to death. You could be in the plane in the baggage area and either die of lack of oxygen and or freeze to death.

Some of the comments show a lack of what humans are willing to do to escape war, poverty and oppression. Whole families get aboard rinky dink boats to cross the ocean or mediterranean, with a 70/80% chance of dying a horrible death, sold by human traffickers into slavery while traveling to the north of Africa, join rebel armies only to become part of the occupying force, child labor, child prostitution. Females are a commodity to be sold or tortured for pleasure, take your pick .From the comfort of a chair and a keyboard pass judgement on what they should or shouldn't do is laughable and sad at the same time. Most of these men would have to join the Taliban or be killed, tortured, put in camps and die slowly while their mothers, sisters, daughters are reduced to walking talking life stock,to be sold or locked away like cattle.Self preservation is a powerful incentive, talk to a Syrian,Iraki, Sudanese,Kenyan,Lybian, Congolese for example and get some perspective.

they said they were breathing mouth to mouth most of the way because of how cold the air was.
dudes holding onto a plane, breathing in and out of each others mouths to live.
shyt is crazy.
they were on tv like 15 minutes ago.
when the plane landed they were dropping off like raisins before it even came to a stop.
dudes were rolling behind the plane, got up and started dancing.

:dead:

All those fighting age men ready to leave they women and children behind such cowards. And that’s what they are deciding to bring out here. America is doomed.

This is almost propaganda at this point, women and children were pictured on the planes and families stayed home in hiding or fled to the border. There isn't a mass exodus in Afghanistan rn kids were still in school when this airport shyt went down

I hate how the right wing element of this forum always rushes to be the first comment you see.

Not everyone is running scared from Taliban, for some it’s window of opportunity to get a ticket out of a poor country in bad state and get toward the promise of wealthier West where they can fulfill their goals. Young people everywhere have dreams and aspirations, even in Afghanistan, and in places where aspirations are dead end because of economic/political situation, you’ll do anything to get out.

Also Kabul attracts rural migrants from rest of country where literacy is low and probably seeing planes for the first time. With breakdown of security perimeter of airport earlier this week literally anyone could walk on run way. I wouldn’t be surprised if a lotta the young guys who jumped on plan where rural types who heard rumours about free visas and had no idea what they were doing.

Some of these people, especially the ones that the Taliban will deem "collaborators" are going to be faced with death anyways. So I'm assuming they accepted that outcome.

Saleh had a sister, who was tortured to death by Taliban fighters after they started a manhunt for him

"I write from the Panjshir Valley today, ready to follow in my father’s footsteps, with mujahideen fighters who are prepared to once again take on the Taliban," Massoud, leader of the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan, wrote in an op-ed published by the Washington Post on Wednesday. "We have stores of ammunition and arms that we have patiently collected since my father’s time, because we knew this day might come."

GOP LEADERS ASK BIDEN FOR CLASSIFIED 'GANG OF EIGHT' BRIEFING ON AFGHANISTAN

Panjshir, a province located northeast of Kabul where former Afghan vice president Amrullah Saleh fled in recent days, contains one of the only stretches of territory inside Afghanistan outside of Taliban control.

Massoud said his father gathered resistance fighters in the same region as a mujahideen commander when the Taliban controlled Afghanistan before the turn of the century.

The elder Massoud — who was assassinated on Sept. 9, 2001, two days before al Qaeda terrorists killed nearly 3,000 people in attacks within the United States — died "fighting for the fate of Afghanistan but also for the West," his son said.
