Immigration is a class issue. Middle class blacks and above don't compete with border jumping Mexicans for jobs. In the end we generally see an increase in law enforcement to carry out those policies as more of an impediment on our lives.

Yeah, sure

well they are talking about the primaries

but either way it actually did pan out in the same way, black people did not show up to vote and trump got a decent share of the black vote (for a republican) and that is why hillary lost
She lost because over 53% of white women voted for Adolf, so don't you dare put this loss on black folks.

Black people not showing up to vote and white Obama voters switching (in other words, the Obama coalition ending) were the 2 main reasons Hillary lost

Black people should take credit for getting rid of Hillary

Low Black Turnout May Have Cost Clinton the Election

"A new analysis of November’s election published in the Washington Post on Monday suggests that Hillary Clinton’s performance was damaged by a significant decline in turnout among black voters, especially in a few high-stakes states."

We may have been the kingmaker in 2016 too. By staying home.:obama:

But Trump won the cac votes that lived in regions with little to no black folks. That's how he was able to get the electoral college

So if black folks vote for Hillary like they did O, it seems in theory, her popular vote just climbs higher.

Some people will hate that Harris 1) married a white guy 2) never had her own kids 3) has an "ethnic" first name and 4) dated Willie Brown (former SF Mayor), who is 31 years older than her

Add the number of voters she will lose because of 1-4 and that she has no chance

nah breh by 2020 the kids who grew up on those doodoo lunches gonna be voting

im not trying take away from hillary's incompetence, but nothing you have said contradicts the point the black people are, were and can be the kingmakers both in the primary and the election

I don't disagree but you can hold both views simultaneously.

The views I pointed out are prevalent in people 45+ - they will be voting for easily the next 30 years. The kids are always disorganized and more likely to vote based on purity tests.

Hmm well it's not about regions it's about the overall state

Yeah trump got the white regions but "the blacks" in the cities didn't vote as much, that's what happened in PA and Michigan, outside of Philly and Detroit and a couple of cities those states are all white

The cities is what gives the democrats the edge in mostly white states

Yes, whoever wins the most regions wins the states. Trump won regions which consisted of primary white blue collar voters and very little black blue collar voters.

For example: Luzerne County, PA voted for Obama twice then Trump in 2016. Its a state with 90% whites and 3.6% blacks. If Hillary doesn't get a good chunk white voters in that region she loses it even if she gets 90% of the black voters in that region. That's exactly what happened.

hmm well yes and no, what you are saying is factually correct but your analysis is a little bit off

i looked it up and and trump won PA by 68000 votes, according to this article This Chart Shows Philadelphia Black Voters Stayed Home, Costing Clinton hillary lost 35000 votes compared to obama in philly, i would assert that if you include all black voters in the entire state you would find another 35000+ lost votes

im mos def not disputing white obama voters switching and increase in the white vote overall, but a large black turnout for dems could have blocked it in states like PA and MI

as an aside looking at PA shows why the extreme position on immigration is a loser for dems and why hispanics will not save the democratic party

I agree with you re: immigration. The Dem's weakness is that they rarely (or at least they don't make it a point to enunciate) ever concede that being opposed to unchecked illegal immigration doesn't mean that you're racist or otherwise anti-Mexican. There is a lot of data out there that shows working class/poor black people are disproportionately affected by an influx in illegal immigration by crowding out availability of jobs/housing.

Another thing a lot of people don't realize is that the Hispanic for Trump numbers are actually much higher than reported since so many of them self identify as white. If they get a call from a pollster and the first question asks their ethnicity - a Mexican who identifies themselves as white and a Trump supporter can skew the numbers.

Still got a bone to pick with the first part, but I'ma leave that for another day :birdman:

Did that stop Obama from being elected for 8 years? :comeon:
