he's a pop star and always has been from the rip. it's baffling that people still have expectations of him having bars or being a real spitter. no one in their right mind rated Drake as "top 5" status ever, and if you did and these writing allegations made you re-evaluate your list, you were an idiot to begin with. he's a pop star who happens to rap. he does an amazing job at being the face / entertainer of a team of great creators

I don't remember that. I've always viewed drake as a pop star since the jump. Not during So Far Gone but definitely around the time Thank Me Later came out and he was doing stadium tours after dropping 1 album, a ton of cross-over collabs, etc... it was obvious the guy was more than just a rapper. It was always obvious the guy was more than a rapper. If anyone viewed him as a cold spitter with real bars, ever, they were delusional. If anyone was stanning Drake off the strength of his rapping and bars alone they were delusional. That's why what Meek did was so lame. Anyone with half a brain was like "yeah... no shyt???"

I still check, but I definitely lost a lot of respect for him as an artist. I also don't consider him a rapper anymore--he's a singer who can rap. You teach Bieber how to spit and give him some ghostwriters and you essentially have Drake. Once I changed my perspective of him in that way, I wasn't really mad at him.
