I think Michael is "up next" so to speak, but I don't think his body of work will ever be what it needs to be to put him in that company. He needs to act in more dramatic roles. "Fruitvale station", "Just Mercy" were really good roles for him that showed his range. He also has a movie coming out called "Wrong answers" where he plays a teacher in Atl that ends up in a scandal after falsifying test scores to get increased funding in his school. Where he kind of confuses people is mixed in between that is Rainbow six, Thomas crown affair, and Methuselah. He'll get there one day though. It will be nice to see him and Jonathon Majors develop even more as they get older. If Chad was still here that would be a helluva trio for black hollywood.

Dude didn't even ruin his career. Because he was legally vindicated, but Black women went against him and destroyed him and he had insufficient power and status to fight it.

And he wouldn't have done Creed because he just didn't have the talent. Because Birth of a Nation wasn't that good partly due to him shying away from showing Nat Turner really bossing up against those cacs.

Nate Parker didn't ruin his career. And Creed was conceptualized before or parallel to Nate's steps towards stardom. Mike was already on board as a partner/catalyst for the franchise.

This is Hollywood now. There is no star under 40 carrying a film with their name because celebrities are too accessible now.

That being said the Creed franchise is as close as it could get.
