It's funny because a lot of them are the same ones who said the only reason he's president is because Hillary was the most unpopular presidential candidate ever and anyone else would have washed Trump.
Trump is still as unpopular as he's been his entire presidency.

Trump is benefiting tremendously from the soft bigotry of low expectations. As long as we aren't in a literal nuclear war and gas isn't $5 a gallon, his supporters will see this term as a complete success, and can say "I told ya so" to those on the fence.
A lot can happen in 2 1/2 years, but it's not out of the question that Trump can win. Whoever the Dems nominate, they can't possibly have as much baggage as the Clintons. Just flip Ohio, Pennsylvania and Florida somehow, and it's a lock.

logic tells me that if hillary was as hated as she was and still netted 2.5M votes on trump, that any dem candidate that is just likeable will beat trump... the thing is, dems are experts at snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.... also, dem voters want the world in order to be motivated to vote... trumpistas only want trump to win... if trump did nothing for 8 years except deliver 2 - 4 scotus picks, the average trumpista would call that a huge victory... if hillary won and delivered the first 5 - 4 left leaning scotus in generations, leftists would be sucking their teeth about how she's far worst than any republican candidate could have ever been... no seriously, jimmy dore and his ilk think hillary was far worst than any republican.... there's a reason i'm skeptical trump can be beat...

Between work, rec sports, Facebook, general bar conversation, neighbors, friends etc there is no one who switched sides on Trump over NK.
His polling numbers have actually gone down. They're still lower than may. They're still lower than when he took office and currently lower than after his first 100 days.
Trump supporters are Trolls. This is something they can troll on because it has potential to be good, but isn't already a complete failure.
