43 percent didn’t vote

Honestly I don’t wanna say it but some more school shootings will sink the rethugs and trump. Nov is very important, dems need to be the majority

^This

Trump would need every single person that voted for him in 2016 to vote for him again in 2020 and even then he won't come close.

People voted for Trump because they went with the unknown instead of the known. There is no mystic with Trump anymore. People know what they're gonna get with him and that 30% base isn't enough to win an election even in his own party.

Also have to remember that these people from my experience absolutely LOATH Hillary. It gets lost how much they dislike her and her family. A lot of them seemed to hate Hillary more than Obama from my experience.

The hate is not solely based on factual issues with her as just as much as blind hatred.

Despite the issues with Hillary and her campaign, and there were issue, I've also come to the realization that no matter what she did, she would get hate. You can make the argument that given the 30 years of hatred for her it might have been better she not had ran at all and if someone else ran Trump may not have won .

Idk man..Florida has been looking pretty red. I thought Hillary had a good shot there but I was wrong
Trump had a pretty slim margin in Florida though, will probably be the most hotly contested state in 2020 imo.

until we eliminate stupid and we're all behaving like the characters did on Star Trek TNG there will always be room for people like Trump to succeed in political office

we still have a long way to go as a species until we're fully mature

this is 100% truth

people have hated hillary clinton for over 20 years. i really think a neutral democrat like biden would have beat him

but, she just had to buy the 2016 nomination in 2008, i mean "it was her turn". so :yeshrug:

i agree. but mostly because I don't know who the democrats have that will be opposite him.

I was just thinking the other day that liberals don't really have anything to offer the lower to lower middle class, in terms of messaging. poor folks don't care about transgender rights and #metoo shyt

There is no way to demoralize his base. We need to stop focusing on how to stop his base and focus on firing up our base. That means getting the Democrat that only votes in presidential elections to actually get out and vote in local elections in mid terms. We need to get the people in the middle that say both sides are the same to go out and vote, actually show them for all the Democrats short comings and hypocrisy, that no both sides aren't the same. We need to get people in the left to stop complaining when they're candidate doesn't win, and get them to vote because while the candidate that won the Democrat nomination has a few stances you disagree with, the republicans nominee has A lot of things you disagree with. This is all easier said than done but trying to convince a Trump supporter, change their mind, guilt them, or demoralize them is a waste of time, energy, resources, money, patience, whatever you can think of. They're a brainwashed cult that will follow whatever Fox news tells them. We need to stop focusing on the unreachable and focus on the people that can be reasoned with.
I understand your angst but this is not completely true. You need both strategies to win. Alabama is proof of this. You simply cannot defeat conservative white folks based off of political ideas and goodwill. They don't care! Dems have to morally and spiritually demoralize every would-be republican voter.

Right now if I were a politician my two main attacks would be healthcare (repubs trying to remove pre-existing condition protections), immigration detention centers (how can you claim to be christian while forcibly separating parents from their children after they seek asylum from murderers and rapists), and puerto rico. I would run that shyt into the ground every fukkn Sunday and I wouldn't let up. If your goal isn't to make people hate being a conservative you will never take back control of Congress. You gained it in 2008 because Bush made being a conservative a disgusting idea.

As Cook Political Report editor Dave Wasserman noted on Twitter, turnout was particularly high in the counties with the highest black populations. In Greene County, a small, 80-percent-black area that Martin Luther King Jr. frequented in his Poor People’s Campaign, turnout reached 78 percent of 2016 turnout, an incredible mark given that special elections and midterms usually fall far short of general-election marks. Perry County, also an important mostly black site of voting-rights battles of old, turned out at 75 percent of 2016 levels. Dallas County, whose seat is the city of Selma, hit the 74 percent mark. And while the exact numbers aren’t in for all of the majority-black or heavily black counties, it appears black voters favored Jones at rates close to or above 90 percent.

Meanwhile, Moore’s support sagged in mostly white counties. The race was probably over for the former state chief justice when Cullman County, which is virtually all white and heavily supported Trump in 2016, only turned out at 56 percent of its 2016 levels. It really does seem that although many white voters weren’t convinced to vote for Jones, the allegations against Moore persuaded many of them to stay home.

Black Voters Put Doug Jones in the U.S. Senate

So now I'm being cynical? Roy Moore's nomination depressed the white vote, and then blacks showed out over white people. You need that combination during the election. My statement is based in reality.
How many white women do you need to beat?

Because your candidate is probably going to run some version of #ImWithHer to reach out to "women" voters, which is really a misguided attempt to bring in white women.

Black women don't need an #ImWithHer campaign, because they're not confused about the difference between voting for a pedophile or proponent of civil rights, or voting between an admitted sexual assaulter/housing discriminator/fear mongering racists and a woman who is a center right democrat.

I live in NC.

Between work, rec sports, Facebook, general bar conversation, neighbors, friends etc there is no one who switched sides on Trump over NK.

His polling numbers have actually gone down. They're still lower than may. They're still lower than when he took office and currently lower than after his first 100 days. :mjlol:

Trump supporters are Trolls. This is something they can troll on because it has potential to be good, but isn't already a complete failure.

Don't let the white noise get you down.
bro I don't give a fukk any poll that's not USC ( :mjpls: ). All indications in 2016 suggested it would be a blow out. Almost no one in an interview shown favored trump. Yet election day it blow up it everyone's face. That secret / silent vote is real.

I'm sure even @DEAD7 can chim in about how ecstatic his patrons in the blue collar sector are.

Trump supported him despite his flaws. No one expects him to lose that support. We've been over this a million times.

It's about turnout of liberals and that has been trending upwards. There's nothing to suggest Trump has it made or has won over anyone.
