Fila had really great design for most of the GH line, it had that certain signature something that most signature lines don't.The Question is just a classic shoe, AI was bridging hip hop culture with NBA success and everyone flocked to the shoe. The streets could relate to his style and the 'burbs wanted to emulate it. I want to say the KB8 was close, but while a great design it didn't resonate with people all that well, none of Kobe's Adidas' did though there are some nice kicks in their.

the original kobe the crazy eight was an excellent shoe aesthetically.
yet, the next shoe was a foam that was not received well in the market place and a bit ahead of the time for foam shoes outside of nike.
kobe also hurt his permeation not being at nike originally and still to this day he never permeated close to jordan as an endorsee.
which was because he tried to be offbrand and go outside the box to the type of player he stylistically was.
which was a jordan carbon copy and real talk,..if he would have signed with nike originally.
i feel his draw from nike would have made the lakers pull the trigger on getting rid of the depth in front of him a lot sooner.
instead of waiting on phil to invest into kobe as a future flagship.

kobe is an example of what happens when you don't go to nike. when nike is the sure fit.

[from the bird's eye view the bron iv's anthracite's are a gorgeous look and these are dusty but still gorgeous as a shoe.]

where it was a copy of commercial but it was put into a video game motif and a frame by frame copy but in a videogame.

i think one of those shoe companies were suing the hell out of one another for that.
i forget if it was a jordan commercial copied by ai or an ai commercial copied by nike and jordan.

You could make the case for also kamikaze's and shaqnosis but thats about it. Not even and1 shoe line was selling nice during and1 streetball era, cause their designs sucked.

maybe them adidas derrick rose were like one two season hype and once he tore his ACL the adidas brand went downwards tremendeously

its not just design that made nike who they are, but phenomenal marketing too, they brought the best nba athletes and did groundbreaking commercials like the whole nike just do it series.Their commercials make the audience believe that buying a pair of nike shoes will make them jump like the player who's wearing those shoes


look at them curry under armour shoes, such a horrible design and they keeping those shoes overpriced too. Nike did a sneaky ass move with KD joining warriors as he the nike guy now they are making huge money outta warriors team while no one is buying them UA curry's or anta thompson's

basically if you come at the king best not miss. which is making a nice design and hoping your guy stays the most popular in the league
