After visiting both coast several times I don't see why anyone was choose NY over CALI

i guess if you work in finance ny is your lane but if money isn't an issue and you have a choice NY makes no sense. Cali is better in damn near ever category

I think an argument could be made for access to other areas. I use the "90/180 minute rule". What is 90 mins to 3 hours driving from the downtown of any place. So if you want to slide through real quick somewhere for the day or the weekend, it doesn't require a lot of effort, but you can easily experience the variables OP mentioned:

Women
Weather
Scenery
Smell
Food

I think if you add that in...NY's appeal rises, outside of the weather maybe.....
Then again if you use the 90/180 minute rule, then L.A. might leave NY in the dust

My sister and nephew lived out in New York city and it's cool..

I hate New York because everyone is so bunched up together, no breathing room...

Other than that it's a cool place because u really don't need a car..
