He really fathered the type of self confes

sional pop rap that allowed rappers like drake, cudi, bob, wale, cole, etc. 808's is my least favorite album from him but it's his most influential. Before that more rappers took on the perspective of a narrator, framing morality tales about external circumstances. NOT AS MANY RAPPERS were willing to delve inward and talk about their emotion, pathos etc. This is not to say he was the first to do it but he undeniably popularized it on a mainstream level.

Musically you can see his influence even more. Half of these soul producers don exist without dropout. Electronic based pop rap which too over the latter part of the decade and which has now fallen out of favor was descended from graduation. 808's birthed the style of 40 which has been a huge influence on all of thae new guys.

I'm no the best at articulating these thoughs but every time yeezus drops something a load of people hop on and produce knockoff style. His influence goes beyon music he's transcended int fashion as well, whether you like it or not.

Hope I helped. Not my best

:ehh: This is the kind of post I was looking for. But gottdamn is he such a b!tch and a lame. But you've convince me to give his albums a listen. Ugh.

This is actually legit. Only thing I don't agree with is him birthing self confessional rap. I would say Tupac did that, or Jay with BP1.

U gotta take the good w/the bad tho. Yeazle also fathered the out of control ego, the wifing up of professional slores (I see u Wiz, I see u Tyga), half-baked "art rap" and "experimentation" (I see u Jay, I see u Guitar Weazle), and the whole idea that u dont have to be nice at rapping, as long as u have the right story and look like you are trying really hard (the whole rap game). I would put dude's contributions to the game since 808s in the net negative overall, as huge as they might have been.

You're being to general. Can you be more specific. Who are these modern rappers whos style he fathered?

What has he influenced? This is not diss, I want to know who are these people and things that he is influencing. I need receipts.

Although West designed it as a melancholic pop album, 808s & Heartbreak had a significant effect on hip hop music. While his decision to sing about love, loneliness, and heartache for the entirety of the album was at first heavily criticized by music audiences and the album predicted to be a flop, its subsequent critical acclaim and commercial success encouraged other mainstream rappers to take greater creative risks with their music. During the release of The Blueprint 3, New York rap mogul Jay-Z revealed that his next studio album would be an experimental effort, stating, "... it's not gonna be a #1 album. That's where I'm at right now. I wanna make the most experimental album I ever made." Jay-Z elaborated that like West, he was unsatisfied with contemporary hip hop, was being inspired by indie-rockers like Grizzly Bear and asserted his belief that the indie rock movement would play an important role in the continued evolution of hip hop.

The album impacted hip hop stylistically and laid the groundwork for a new wave of hip hop artists who generally eschewed typical rap braggadocio for intimate subject matter and introspection, including B.o.B, Kid Cudi, and Drake

There are a lot of people who carry themselves the same way he does.

It may be a character flaw to some people, but it doesn't reflect his work.

His work reflects his work. His women's wear line was bad, and didn't debut well. But that's his first show and maybe he'll do better in a few years. As far as his music is concerned i'll just say that i'll always download (see: steal) his shyt because i know he labors over his music, and that's really respectable imo (i know artists who *need* me to buy their shyt and that's who i buy work from, nothing against the dude). He's not a genius but yeah, he's a talented, creative dude.

Thing is...dude's track record doesn't lie.

After how 808s changed the game and how I have a feeling that Travis Scott/Yeezus sound is about to change the game again... he really might be on to something.

its hard to deny his influence at the end of the day.

yeah but there's also a mirage created alongside that 808s era that really helped as well. He kept it up during the MBDTF era but has fukked away a decent portion of it with this Kardashian shyt and the fake anti establishment nonsense during the Yeezus "promo." Those two recent things alone have fukked him in a major way because they are directly contradicting one another. you cant have an attention whoring bytch on your team and say fukk this corporate stuff and then bytch about fashion houses not wanting to fukk with you.

He is a delusional egomaniac who has lost touch with reality. Remember when he tried to change his name to king Louie? I like his music minus yeezus but the person not the artist is a clown.

He works hard but he also overates himself. Nikka thinks he invented fashion but I he just another follower. He once tried to launch a line called pastelle which would have been a gay ass failure. The name alone is cliche corny gayness. Kanye needs people around him to keep him grounded. When u call yourself god and your disciples chirp back that u are him you loose control of reality and start making avant garde trash music which critics love because they love anything they don't get... Call it polarizing, brave and anything but good or listenable. Telling the audience you are challenging them is saying hey can u feel this even tho its pretentious trash with no soul...

and they say yes like the coli clowns who after 50 hard to sit thru listens can finally hear the genius in having someone produce and write your music so u can premier it world wide and rap about slaverly to materialism then floss the very next song :snoop:

Its about dualities brehs :bryan:

Half those of these soul producers don't exist without RZA's production on Ghostface's Sumpreme Cliente album, in which Kanye and Just Blaze admitted to borrowing elements and being heavily influenced by that album. Which in turn gave Just Blaze and Kanye a platform to produce soul samples for Jay-Z's Blueprint album, WAY before Kanye dropped his first album
And you gonna act like Kanye aint a Wu-Tang and RZA stan? :mjpls:
