Nobody in here is clearly explaining the value of nfts. It almost like a “nikka you ain’t up on this” situation. If you’re so adamant about their value then pick a couple NFTs and explain clearly why they have value. Then when people ask clarifying questions, respond with a thoughtful answer. You nikkas are insufferable.
Exactly. All the ducking, dodging, and juelzing is not helping it look not like a scam.

But not all nfst are limited, alot are open edition so that voids that point

If they are 'not limited', then what's the point aside from essentially creating an even stronger form of DRM where more forms of digital content can controlled to a higher extent

Simply because they like the art.

The same way open edition prints sell in traditional art.

Alot of people just like art breh, the people buying apes are also hanging them in their house once they buy them. And they do wear them in "public" via there avatars on social media
But can’t you do that for free? What’s stoping me from rightclicking and making a print of the NFT art myself? If I were to do that, what recourse would the NFT owner have? Like. What part do they actually own? Because I know they don’t actually own the actual image.

I realize you can do that with regular art but prints are usually not considered valuable. What makes them valuable in NFT form?

What's stopping you from going to a gallery and taking a photo of the Mona Lisa? Do you then own the print or just a photo of the art? Nft owners don't care if you save the jpeg. You can't make.profit from the jpeg you saved,

Wrong again you thinking prints are not valuable. Try and buy a kaws print right now and tell me how much you spent

What question was ducked?
What make NFT’s valuable? I realize not all of them are valuable but the question is what determined the value of the ones that are valued at large amounts. How is it determined?
For example.. this one
9. Beeple’s Ocean Front — $6m

why is this worth 6ms?

Beeple has put the work in. Constancy in most sectors will gain you reputation and value. He released new artwork everyday for 5 years not missing one day. Because of the work ethic , he got mainstream attention. Because of that mainstream attention his art became valuable. He also managed to make it so you also have a physical piece along with the nft.

I can buy a print of the Mona Lisa right now for $7 on Amazon.
If I try and make profit from the .jpeg, what can the NFT owner do? How can you sue me if you don’t own the image or the copyright?

It's not a authentic print. You can't make profit from the jpeg that's why nft collectors laugh at this argument

So it’s hype? That’s fine, it’s the same with regular art, but now the question is what benefit do I have as the NFT owner of I don’t own the image?

but it's in the blockchain:jawalrus:
The funny think is the pictures are not even on the blockchain. It’s just a receipt that points to a url lmao. If the site was to ever go down you would just have a receipt to a dead link on the blockchain
