He did OK today. The rotation needs a bit of an upgrade though if we really trynna make another run at this. Madbum the only one I trust in the postseason. Everyone else is shakey baby.
Id disagree, he was getting hit hard from what I saw. I have faith in heston, but overall I agree with you about rotation, except I dont think we should go after an ace. and if we cant get an ace, we'd just have another unknown that we cant trust fully :manny:

I thought today he was ok, but yeah he ain't getting as many groundballs anymore which does not bode well. :ld:

Hestons been good and definitely should get some ROY consideration, but I was talking more about the playoffs. Not sure how he'll react to the pressure. I've heard some whispers about getting James Shields. I'm not too hot on that, but for the right price I'd take him :manny:. Not really down with the two month rentals of price or hamels. Last time we made a move like that with Beltran it back fired like a mother fukker.

honestly I feel like getting a bullpen arm is almost as important now. I dont trust anyone in the bullpen not named lopez or kontos. casilla labors through every outing.

after all these years, I finally trust sabes to do the right thing and not go for big names/big splashes. cant believe I said this lol

wheeler hasnt ended up as anything

it was basically a wash
how was this a wash ?
wheeler even after tj surgery possesses a lot of trade value, heard mets willing to trade him for right price right now.

we literally lucked out with heston, and all our other starting pitchers in minors look like big busts. we literally cant find anyone who can be as crappy as hudson or lincecum because theyre even worse in the minors

striking out more people than innings pitched in the majors last year at age 24 is not 'hasnt done anything'. hes not tim alderson

mets arent trading him because he sucks, its because their rotation is a monster even without him, and they need hitting

i dont regret the deal, it was worth the risk. some times things simply dont work out, this is not like the liriano trade which was a utter fuking disaster

we'll have to agree to disagree :manny:
cant remember last time we made a major move before deadline that paid off. on our roads to WS all of the moves made were small, low risk high reward. sabes should stick to that mantra imo

Not a wash. If he could do it all over again, I doubt Sabean would make that trade again.

beltran not signing a extension was probably the best way it could of ended, dude hasnt been the same

well they cant make big deals because of the weak farm, they dont have much but they got some good bullpen arms down there.

we just gotta hope cain continues to improve, going into the playoffs with bum, cain, and heston is good enough.

a trade for shields would be decent but i think trying to get kimbrel or chapman would defiantly help for years to come
