we were enslaved for 400 years, denied basic human rights and considered less than human. after our supposed "emancipation" from slavery, we were subjected to a system of brutal apartheid for almost another century, refused the right to vote and have equal representation in this nation. black people are still here, still persevering, and still resisting the yoke of white supremacy that has tried - but FAILED - to destroy our community for over 5 centuries.
i know that things are terrible for many of us, and racism is still alive and well, but black people have proven that we are stronger than them. this idea that black america is doomed is defeatist bullshyt peddled by weak, self-hating house ******s who don't know their history and their white benefactors. i'm tired of hearing it.
