Marvel's Mockingbird Series Starring Adrianne Palicki Lands ABC Pilot Order (EXCLUSIVE)

Despite putting a halt on the “Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” spinoff, which was proposed earlier this year, ABC is closing in on a deal to order a pilot for a project centered around Mockingbird, Variety has learned exclusively.

Titled “Marvel’s Most Wanted,” the drama will focus on popular “SHIELD” characters Adrianne Palicki‘s Bobbi Morse (also known as Mockingbird) and Nick Blood’s Lance Hunter. The two actors will topline the pilot and prospective series.

“SHIELD” producers Jeffrey Bell and Paul Zbyszewski co-created the project for Marvel and ABC Studios, co-writing the pilot. They will serve as showrunners and exec producers together with Marvel’s head of television Jeph Loeb also exec producing.

Insiders say the series is not a spinoff, per se, but rather an entirely new project solely focused on the two characters to continue their story. Though plot details are scarce at this point, “Marvel’s Most Wanted” will follow the pair and their adventures together.

At this time, ABC has not made any decisions regarding premiere date or a path of introduction, such as introducing the new show as a planted episode during “SHIELD.”

More's the pity, they could have made a great series, tying MCU characters into world history.

Winter Soldier assassinating JFK or the Kree showing up at Roswell for the first time could have been dope.

I never said nobody would watch it. But they don't need a spin-off.

See, this was my problem with the MCU being tied in with TV. They are restricted to what they can and can't do. They're basically making shows off of random characters no one wants to see.

They're not really tied to them. Agents Of Shield ending wouldn't make everything on the film end grind to a halt. The Inhumans haven't been mentioned at all in the movies yet, but they were front and centre in the show. I feel like they have 'deniability' if they need it.

They haven't said a lot about the Netflix properties being in movies, but I like that they have their own separate tone.

There are a ton of other properties they could do on Network TV like 'Runaways' and 'Cloak & Dagger' that they haven't touched at all yet.

If these shows don't feature KNOWN heroes then I truly think they're wasting their time,and oversaturating the primetime tv market...

Peggy Carter was acclaimed,liked by fans but didn't get huge numbers Marvel wanted.

I think they should throw some more eggs in the Netflix basket.

I mean I guess I could see if Adrianne was the new hot it girl,but what makes them think she can carry a show?

theres gonna be a Agent Carter season 2 but its gonna stay a mid season show which means 8-10 episodes instead of the normal 22-23 episodes a network tv show normally has

I like Agents but it's a Struggle in itself. Why waste more Time & Money on a Spinoff of a Struggling Spinoff?

I just..I I just don't concur this and I'm not trying to be a Marvel Hater but DC is making a Killing with Arrow & Flash as it is..not to mention their own Spinoffs.

Just keep it at Agents. Peggy had a Good Series and unless there are any other Solo Characters like Ms. Carter to bring to TV then Marvel should just stick with Agents until then.

I'm honestly waiting on DC to make their move with NetFlix. Daredevil was Great and Punisher seems Promising along with Jessica Jones. How come a TV-MA Series of Constantine, Gordon or Powergirl can't Feed us on NetFlix?
