i was thinking of this thread but all i could think of would be juvi and mystikal

Mystikal has not lost it at all. He came outta jail killin joints left and right. That Mark Ronson joint could be a new lane exposure for him too.

Too bad he did business with :birdman:. Puts a monkey wrench in his shot at a legitimate comeback.

- All 40 Water's joints been bangin' the last few years.
- I didn't like that Compton album at all.
- Bush was bangin', but Snoop didn't even rap that much on it.
- LL "Headsprung" is better than any single that came out this year.

This LL discussion of the past few days has been interesting. Alot have labeled him as having a dated style and being out of place in today's Hip-Hop landscape. A few years ago, Jay-Z got criticized for not making "grown man music" on MCHG and sounding lyrically challenged compared to his old work

Here are a few albums of the past couple of years from rappers who are 40 plus that I think actually worked. The artists managed to make fresh sounding music without sounding washed or pandering to a younger audience.

i was thinking of this thread but all i could think of would be juvi and mystikal

i mean they perform all they old shyt at shows and it sells out i'm ready for this mixtape with juvi wayne and mannie on the boards though

i may be wrong but jay needs another reasonable doubt sounding cd at this point

side note i'd really love to hear a clean and sober dmx cd
Now that u mention Mystcal I don't know why he ain't link up with Mark Ronson and do a whole album, the two cuts he did with him were DOPE as fukk. On some hip hop James Browm type shyt. Way left field from what everybody else was/is doing.

I like the way KRS-One, Nas, K-Rino and Scarface have aged as artist, all still make dope music and talk about some grown man shyt. Nearly all of them kept that rebelliousness too and didn't conform too much which is important.

Nas has aged really well as a rapper. His best days are behind him, but I'm glad that he can still put out dope music. :salute:

It was dope to hear Quik making beats in this era. He modernized without trying too hard to keep up.

I always felt Quik was ahead of the curve, his later stuff was really just well layered and always sounds fresh.
