Can't relate. I can say this though: They probably won't stay friends for too much longer.
I feel awkward if I don't have money and go out with them. I tell them straight up I can't go because I'm broke and they understand (we've all been there). I don't expect them to pay though, if they offer 80 percent of time I refuse.
