Danny Ainge confirmed the Boston Celtics are open to discussing any deal that might make the team better.

"We are open and listening, but we don't feel pressure to do anything," said Ainge. "Whether we win every game or whether we struggle, I think it all depends on what opportunities are presented. We want to make some change to help improve our team."

Ainge said he has not received any offers for Paul Pierce, who has one year remaining on his contract and a $4 million buyout after this season.

"Nothing has been talked about with Paul," said Ainge. "Nothing is close to being done. I too would like to see Paul retire as a Celtic. That would be great. We're all attached to Paul. He's been great for the city, the franchise, and he's been a true pro. Having said that, if something came up I would talk to Paul. My job is to do what's in the best interest of our team, regardless of my personal ties or my personal feelings with the players."

Ainge was also adamant that he was not currently in the market to pick up another point guard to replace Rajon Rondo.

"Not right now," he said. "There's a lot of reasons why we're not just jumping out and doing something. There really is nobody that you can find to replace Rondo, either through a trade or free agent acquisition, at this time of year. We like the guys -- Leandro Barbosa's been dying for a chance to play, and Jason Terry, and Avery Bradley at the point. I think all those guys are looking for an opportunity."

For a long time or until their a championship level team again? :upsetfavre:

Once a fan; always a fan!!

if the players arnt competing then they are forced into a no win and im in a no win because if i sit and watch and they dont play up to pay im at a loss and they are at a loss because as a consumer im paying their salary and they are not earning it and they are getting older and not winning so it leaves me sad and them frustrated and overall the league and its peers dont want to see or hear or be that

If you're a fan of PP like you say you are, then you wont be selfish and demand that he play out his final years on a going no where squad. He'll always be a celtic, but let him try to go out like a champ.

but if he goes somewhere else and he does that and he comes up short and he doesnt get his title and he turned his back on the Celtics and he is out of a contract then it all makes it out to be a bad situation i think he should try and avoid because lets say he goes to another team and lets be real here only Miami is gonna win and he isnt going to go there so lets be real he is basically getting traded to no where and then what he isnt a celtics anymore and he has an astorick next to his name when he could have just stayed with the celtics and been the one team all career guy and then he could hold his head high instead of going out chasing glory when in reality he already had glory in 2008 so i think its in his best interest to just suck it up and continue to wear green because it will make him look so much better going into the hall of fame and lets be real here it will be so unfair to Garnett to ditch him because Garnett will be all by himself when all his pals jumped ship and you know Garnett hold grudges so then he might try elbow pierce one night going to the rim and that could end Pierce career not only on a losing squad but by injury and who in their right mind wants to see that happen because i think the moral of the story is feel good for what you have because no matter what Pierce is a champion and a top notch sure hall of fame Celtic and he used to play on horrible teams in the past so its not like he doesnt know how to cope with losing and i think if he looks back years later he will say he is glad he stayed and glad he wore green and i heard from my cousin that he is a inspiration to the teammates so if he leaves he will leave the young guys in disary and leaving Garnett to deal with all the cows as a lone cowboy is no fair
