Because some people like to buy into the image more than the reality. What should matter in the end is the music. If you come from a harsh place, it's fine to tell your stories. I just feel that by the same token, suburban artists shouldn't be disregarded, because what in the world does that have to do with anything, from a musical standpoint? How many hood tales do you really need? It's like going to the movies and every movie showing is either a Boyz n' The Hood or Scarface rip off. Diversity is important, let's have something new for a change.

I'm from Missouri and never heard of that. I'm not saying you're lying but I'm from Kansas City and it was the exact opposite. The school district was 75% minority so they brought kids from the suburbs to "diversify" the schools, which still ended up being 90-95% black.

I've never heard of taking kids from the city and shipping them farther out.

Mind you, I'm talking about the 80's and 90's.

It shouldn't. I'm from the burbs and just so happened to not really fukk with many ppl there so I always had friends from less fortunate areas.

I can't ever cosign the ignorance that suburbs = wack.

I've seen mad suburb nikkas eat hood nikkas in a fade. Got suburbs nikkas who shot 6 ppl who were planning to jump him and beat the case. I've even seen mentally tougher suburb cats.
