Some of the greatest (black) jazz musicians played clarinet alongside other instruments. Eric Dolphy, Rahsaan Roland Kirk, and John Coltrane. Not sure what it or any instrument has to do with masculinity or a loss of masculinity.

In terms of the accordion, that's a cultural thing. If you're from cultures that heavily feature that instrument it's seen with respect.
