With anything you buy, the maker has to pay to pay for the materials needed to make the product, workers to manufacture the product, pay for shipping the product, pay for advertising the product, then the company that wants to sell the product has to pay licensing fees, shipping advertising, Etc. So if you sold the shoe for $10 you'd be losing money, and there would be no company to speak of. And that's why there is an MSRP on most items. Nike isn't making a $180 profit for every pair of jordans sold.
