I noticed that too.

But why?

Arent both Pusha & Drake employees under universal?

Why would the execs side with the less profitable employee?
Ask yourself this..
Which one has the Apple Music deal?
Which one doesn't need the traditional model of marketing and record sales to appease his core audience ?
Which one is allegedly projected to garner a BILLION streams with a project that hasn't been released yet?

It kinda reminds me of how warner bros went out of thier way to slander Prince (and no Drake will never be in the same air as Prince) when Prince was one of the pioneers of the digital movement.

Pusha has always been known and respected. Yall act like he's been some underground rapper his whole career. I doubt UMG is taking his side but its not surprising industry people showing him more love than Meek got. Clipse always got love and were respected.
He told us if we go by connections made, he can't still climb the ladder when complexions fade

I don't believe it per se

But what goes around comes around

Seeing the corporate gangbang train they ran on Meek in summer 2015 was the most disgusting thing I've seen in hip hop. The machine protected Drake through that. The machine put him on a billboard beside Nas, Big and Rakim. If the machine now wants to chew him up and spit him out, so be it

I also think contrary to popular belief, the average fan is not a complete idiot and can discern if Push had the harder diss.

You guys really believe this huh.

If Pusha had pulled a Meek and released a track that wasn't noteworthy, he'd be getting clowned by McDonalds' twitter account and everyone else. Instead he read the audience and gave them what they want. Drama, gossip, fukkery...and some bars. He forced the media to pay attention, including people who don't care about rap. Social media responds to routs: when the crowd is running one way, media runs with them. Drake got clowned, and everyone wanted a piece of that for the attention and clicks it provides. There is no conspiracy here.

But there's a flip side. When Drake responds...assuming it's simply a well put together track like Ducky with no real body blows/blood drawn...everyone is gonna act like Drake came back from a 3-1 deficit to win the NBA championship. His fans, various corporate twitter pages, etc.

Not that this is accurate, but I do feel label execs feel some type of way about the dominance of hip hop right now. They can’t really control it or the narrative.

Drake is like Swiss Army knife of music and is able to do so much musically. He’s also helping and one of the main reasons hip hop is so dominant right now. He’s pretty much helping a lot of rappers eat cause everything he touches turns to gold.

What better way to stop the dominance of hip hop than to take out the main dude who’s controlling so much in music.

so label execs want to cut drake off because he makes them alot of money?

:russell:ovo media machine spreading mis-info to paint drake as the victim.:duck:

Ne ways he said that diss about ready, well drop it then drake lets uncover these layers

Who really see this nikka as a victim though? If UMG is riding with Push, that is amazing to me considering out of the 2, Aubrey is clearly their bigger money maker.

If this is true, I wanna know what dude did for them to wanna kill off/humble their current best asset. That's why this is interesting to me.

Why not try to make 2 cash cows :manny:

Drake is going to sell regardless...IF this is true, I could see the idea in wanting to make money off Pusha as well

:ohhh: Yea, I definitely hadn't looked at it at this angle.

:damn: muthafukkas still in the stages of grief :laff:

nikka, if you think I'm riding for or caping for Aubrey, find your nearest sword and sit on that shyt.

Although they appreciate the revenue Drake brings in the Universal Brass has never been fond of him.....

Going back to when he took shots at former Motown/ Universal exec Sylvia Rhone on a mixtape and at a award show and was forced by the higher ups to apologize

Drake Apologizes To Head Of Motown For Slam

And in recent times screaming at Universal CEO Lucian Grainge on Twitter for taking his music off of various platforms .......

Not to mention Kanye and Grainge have always had a closeknit relationship beyond business

Lucian....Lyor....Kanye
