1000% true breh but check it out. Even if you became a billionaire and could buy into certain industries, as a black man they wouldn't sell it to you period. Or sell certain real estate to you period. That's what I'm saying. "No one man can rise above the condition of his people." It is a class thing too but at the very least a poor white hick can become a billionaire some how and have no negative stigma. We're always stereotyped, stigmatized, marginalized and held back. This is my point.
WE HAVE TO BEAT MEDIA PROPAGANDA ABOUT US, fukkED UP CIRCUMSTANCES AND UPBRINGINGS , CRAB IN A BUCKET GANG RIDDEN NEIGHBORHOODS, POLICE ATTACKING US. THEN EVEN IF WE TRANSCEND ALL THAT WE'RE STILL GOING TO BE DISCRIMINATED AGAINST!!
I ain't saying black ppl aren't given an unfair shot...cuz its certainly true.

Just saying, other groups are also outside that 1% "old boys" club, even though they have the same skin color.

honestly, I just can't wait until these old dudes die off...I know the next gen under them are fukked too.. but less so. And with each generation that passes. and for every dude like Mark cuban...we get some kind of progress.

No, what's disrespectful is this fake outrage over the word "slave". What's disrespectful is the stupidity/simplicity of people like you which is deflecting from the real discussion about black pro athletes being controlled by white corporations and used to maintain the status quo. When people say that these athletes are "slaves" it's a metaphor you idiot. Nobody's marginalizing slavery. That is a dumbass deflection that a white supremacist would use. Slavery has more than one definition and can be used in more than one context. You're purposely ignoring that to deflect with some fake ass outrage.

“I support them and give them food, and clothes, and cars, and houses. Who gives it to them? Does someone else give it to them?”
^^^That's a quote from Donald Sterling referencing the players on the Clippers. That quote sounds like it's from gotdamn slave owner. That's how a lot of these white owners and corporate bosses think about these black players. Wake up and get off of that dumb/simple shyt.
A slave doesn't have a fukking choice in ANYTHING in his life, you retard!

THAT'S the difference. All that other shyt applies to any regular day job.

This is why idiots should stay out of conversations. Next time you think about quoting me, don't.

It's an extremely distasteful metaphor. It's mad disrespectful to those black people who actually were slaves.
I understand the discomfort and dislike of the metaphor but
1) Black folks don't have ownership on the term "slave"

2) Using metaphors of occupations, conditions, functions of inanimate objects, and industries is common..."but what do I look like"
-a maid
-your slave
-your man
-a rug, for you to walk all over
all above focuses on the generic functionality of the entity, not intimate details of each functionality

3)I strongly believe that the outrage has to do more with the messenger, not the message. A man with the Honorable Minister's resume will not evoke suspicion in me about his lack of knowledge, lack of respect and empathy for black slaves. He rightfully deserves the benefit of the doubt

Who said they did?:what: But we're obviously talking about black slaves in this case, so that fact goes without saying.

It's still a distasteful metaphor considering that the enslavement of black people is relatively recent. Even worse considering the inhumane legacy of chattel slavery that was specifically imposed on African peoples.

prove that he's talmbowt black slaves and not the word "slave," since it's so obvious
So any other metaphors used by a black person would mean the "black version" of that subject

What do I look like a maid? oh you mean a black maid, since you are a black person saying that, so now let's examine the statistics of black maid;s salaries and employment to determine whether we should be offended...stop it

You don't care for the Minister, that is you, but stop using the fake outrage to try to criticize him. The same white folks that is using this same outrage is the same ones that tells you in the next sentence to "get over black slavery"
