GOAT show. I always wondered what casting calls look like for characters like that. "Unattractive big woman with sense of humor" perhaps?
We need a Marcy insult compilation vid.
Ha! I've been re-watching some of the episodes. Steve was no Jefferson, but he was also in some of their very best episodes like the Labour Day cookout or lending out money to Al's shoe lineTop 5 for me. The show really took off once Steve left, and basically saved Ted Mcginley's career since he was considered a show killer. Al & Griff was the first savage duo on tv, it would've been Fred & Esther if they were friends.

While Jefferson was funnier, he was also in some of their worst episodes ever like the season where they introduced that macaulay culkin kid from wish.com. It was very very bad. The show brought the fukkery back when they introduced no ma'am club and Griff. They pretty much surrounded the best part of the show (Al) with a great supporting cast suited to Al, rather than experimenting with all that bullshyt about Al having to raise another kid.
