Gore isn't someone I know much about past his environmental work. He was a DLC guy, no? Is his name ID and green cred worth economic centrism to liberals and progressives?
I remember in '08 he was viewed as more of a threat to Clinton's support base than Obama's iirc, but that was pretty early in the process. He'd probably go further left economically than his record if he got in but who knows if that would be effective.
I've also heard Kerry's name thrown about as a potential late entry if the Iran deal looks to be going well and Clinton looks to be faltering
