It's not a real "highway" like when you think of the word describing exit ramps, multiple lanes, etc ... it's just the name of this two lane road.

There are streets much bigger than this in cities all over the country.
It’s still a ‘highway’ in the sense it’s a high speed limit and a lot of distance between lights.

Also people REALLY underestimate the level to which they are damn near invisible late at night. A driver is not even supposed to expect a pedestrian randomly walking across that type of street

It’s also a failure of backwater towns. That type of setup would not exist in a normal American city. No pull off nothin just a bar on the side of a dark road. He wouldn’t even need to be speeding to do what he did. All signs point to he never saw her

If you ever read old newspaper articles about car "accidents" (they used to call it car murder), shyt like this was regular. Hit a kid playing on the block, and you're getting yanked out and bodied by 30 people.

RIP to Hannah :(

In 2011, six years after Sanford “Sandy” Lee Ledbetter disappeared from the Magnolia Springs area and a year after his remains were positively identified, Harrison admitted to beating Ledbetter to death.

Harrison was sentenced to 15 years in state prison, with one year credit for time served awaiting trial. That sentence was to run concurrent to a 10-year sentence previously imposed for a theft conviction.

But Harrison was released in February 2016 after serving the minimum of five years. Had he served his full sentence, he would have remained in prison until October 2025, according to the Alabama Department of Corrections.

Yeah I was about to look at it too. After seeing the road, thats still not a place where you are allowed to cross at. Theres no streetlights either and clearly no crosswalk or sidewalk. The speed limit is 55, its dark and no one is supposed to be crossing the road so I can see how someone could get hit accidentally. Its weird that people are saying its weird that he got out to check on someone they hit. Thats what youre supposed to do. I dont think that it was intentional.
