The inmate killed a 15 year old girl

He also stabbed 2 teen boys to death prior towards killing the the 15 year old girl. He got life for those murders but got the death sentence for the murder of 15 year old girl.

But this is a matter of the laws not making sense. 13th amendment pretty much says that he's a slave or "state property" as he was convicted by the state and lost his freedom but the 8th says he isn't to be subjected to cruel and unusual punishment. Then the 1st says the right to religion and the 14th says equal protection of the law which automatically means that there should be an iman employed if a minister or other religious person is employed but then does the 13th cancel that out since he's state property. The supreme court just said that shyt doesn't matter because of the 13th amendment. There is an argument in concerns to the religious freedoms of inmates and what does and does not apply. I'm against the death penalty but as they say, you can only judge a society by how well they treat it's inmates. I personally think that his rights did get violated and the state of Alabama should be forced to hire that iman in question as he does regularly go to that facility that he was housed at to counsel other Muslim inmates.

So by his own and his friend's admission, they kidnapped, raped, slit the throat of then bashed in the skull of a 15 year old girl....

...and you're outraged his imam had to watch his execution from the next room instead of right next to him?:gucci: :hhh:

Man set to die for 1995 slaying of Selma teen
if he was a christian they would have let a priest in. regardless of what he has done in the past he HAS A RIGHT to have religious counsel in his last moments. clear discrimination
Islam isn't JUST a religion, though. So, an Imam isn't performing the same 'service' as a priest or minister.
if islam is not just a religion neither is christianity or judaism

Which is why he is being put to death. But given the state supposedly argues often that it's better than the murderer despite putting a man to death by granting certain dignities like a last meal, last words, and last rights, it's only fair that the last rights portion be fitting of an individuals religious beliefs. Also, if a Christian man can get this right not sure why a Muslim man cant.

Also the supreme Court ruling on this as already pointed out can be applied to all cases not just cases this heinous .

:mjlol: I give a fukk about a serial murderer and rapist pedophile, slitting a child's throat and bashing her head in, getting 'discriminated' by having to see his Imam through a window instead of hold his hand :scust::camby:

nikka is a rapist and a murderer . Is it messed up that Christians are afforded this luxury and he wasn't? sure.

Am I going to give a fukk and be fake outraged about it? Hell naw.
the SCOTUS ruling sets a precedent. now a state can do this in other cases. what happens if someone is wrongfully convicted and denied spiritual counsel because of this?

Islam isn't JUST a religion, therefore, it isn't JUST religious counseling.

False. Neither Judaism or Christianity are anything more than religions.

do you not understand how legal precedent works? this could happen in the future now IN ANY CASE. even if someone is wrongfully put to death

Of all the forms of discrimination in this country, really not a big deal. They'll still get to see their counsel right before they go into the chamber, and die with their counsel standing a few feet further from them than they'd like through a window.

Basically a non-issue compared to the real issue of wrongful death penalty convictions.
