Nobody fukks with Elzhi, Royce, or Black Milk, in the D, bruh. They fukk with dude's like Doughboyz Cashout and Icewear Vezzo. Jeezy get more love in the D than these backpack/ Internet rappers yall name.

You mean like the underaged white girl who Danny raped on stage? If he had a large female fanbase, he wouldn't be relegated to being an Internet rapper. Even ASAP has female fans and escaped the Internet

That's sad. It's a good thing nobody in the D fukks with Danny if that's the case.

I'm so confused tho...

Why doesn't Detroit fukk with Black Milk and Elzhi and them? Because they don't make street music or what?

Why doesn't the world fukk with backpack rap? I don't think any of my family and friends, specifically young folk, from Detroit and Flint have even heard of these dudes. They're a backpacker and Cac fabrication. Look, they can all rap, but don't tell me they have ANY impact on rap or that any of these dudes could be considered to have AOTY. Danny Brown? :shaq2:

Ugh. It just annoys me that it's not about the music anymore.

It's never been just about the music. Like I said, when rap first started, Herc, Hollywood, Bambaataa, Flash, etc rocked their neighborhoods. To be a rapper is to be an MC which is a microphone controller, a person to rock the crowd and tell you how it is on their side of things. The D never endorsed these guys, they built their own scene and circle jerked. White boy critics and backpackers want it to be about "the music" with no context.

Honestly, I'm bored. Old Side B is cool and Danny Brown is what he is. If you think he is the best rapper right now and cranking out AOTY, good for you.

Does/did the D fukk with Dilla?

I think after Dilla died his legend grew in the D as a way to pay respect. I can't ever recall hearing his music or name growing up in on the Westside from 90-98. My cousins and friends out there have never mentioned him, they probably know his name but none of his music. Like I said, Detroit street rap gets WAY more love than the conscious stuff. They just don't have the vehicle or charisma of a city like Atlanta to overshadow the conscious stuff, so thats the stuff Internet nerds and backpackers get exposed to.

Breh, I don't understand your logic. You're in here complaining about Danny Brown being unknown,

but you keep bringing up people that are only known in Detroit and hardly anybody else

and compare it to a bygone era where most rappers were local because Rap was still in its infancy.

The reason MC's of skill like a Elzhi or a One Be Lo or a Guilty Simpson don't get street love is because of the bullshyt people like your beloved Nas did when he went pop. Him doing that snuffed out skill based acts that aren't willing to compromise.

The funny thing is, street dudes aren't some monolithic group that only listen to LCD rap. Sure onstage (in the streets or clubs) perhaps but anyone with anything beyond surface level curiosity concerning MC'ing will listen to those who can actually MC.

take One Be Lo as an example....dude is an ex con. surely he was in the streets at some point. he's pigeonholed under the backpack umbrella.

:snoop: Do you listen to music or do you
just skim through it ?
:scusthov:
And before you ask he's more akin to a
gangster rapper and/or street rapper.

:dead: Dudes worried about what their little
cousin is noddin his head too :dead: not the fukking
