Maybe the purchasing laws should be 18/19 but they should be legally allowed to drink at any time. The reason Europe gets it mostly right is because, for example, they give their 13 year old a glass of wine with their dinner. They take away the intrigue and the rebellion factors and normalize alcohol consumption in moderation. If kids around here were introduced at an early age and shown that alcohol can be a complement to a meal rather than a means to black out, it would have a hugely positive influence.
