He's definitely mentally ill, he's constantly and consistently refused or neglected the help he's been offered and the things he's been told to do to get better. He's very likely got a personality disorder, a lot of these cats in the NFL do, and I can't imagine a literal lifetimes worth of brain trauma from when you were 6-7 years old onwards contributes to a downward spiral in ones mental state.
