He definitely was going in the first round if he would have declared as a freshman. Tearing up his knee didn't help either cause it took him a year to get his athleticism back and that fukked up his development too. Now he will be lucky if his name is called in the second round.
Hes going to be a poor mans MKG in the league and put up poor mans MKG stats at best. He wanted to win a title though. He still gonna get money be it in the NBA or overseas. He leaving with his health and that's all that matters.
And the HArrison twins left early and one of them didn't get drafted, so going to the NBA was never a lock. Furthermore how many of those first round one and done players from Kentucky are really balling besides Towns and Davis

Going in the first round don't mean shyt if you not going to ball. You only looking that the rookie wage scale. You act like they gonna be set for life off that rookie contract which they WONT. They will be in the d-league or playing overseas within a few years.
Stein was getting some burn earlier in the season and was starting some for the Kings. I think Lyles was getting a little play too from the Jazz when Favors was out hurt. But I cant be mad at these guys for leaving. Look at someone like Daniel Orton. He left as a freshman and went in the first and got paid. If he would have stayed he probably would have slipped down the depth chart and never seen a milli at all. Tis better to be rich for a while then to never be rich at all.

What exactly is the point of your argument? All we're discussing is from the benefit of the player. Going in the first round means you get paid. Teams also are more willing to keep you around because you were a "1st round pick with potential". Anthony Bennett doesn't even make it past summer league had he not been a lottery pick let alone make 3 years worth of an NBA salary. If he stayed in college, he would not have gotten "better", he likely would have gotten exposed eventually and undrafted. Making 3 years of a NBA salary >>>>> going undrafted
