Former Yankee slugger Alex Rodriguez has sealed a deal with ABC News, which will see him appearing in segments across the news division including for “Good Morning America” and even “World News Tonight.”

A network insider said A-Rod, 41, had been in talks with ABC News brass about appearing as an on-air contributor for sports, family and even financial segments for shows across the network, also including “Nightline.”

The source said, “This doesn’t mean that George Stephanopoulos and Michael Strahan should watch their backs — but ABC is talking to Alex about taking a role in the news division and expanding his appearances across a number of shows. Viewers are not going to see Alex weekly, more like once a month. But it could be more if he does well. He will be an ABC News contributor and he’ll also be doing stuff for ‘Nightline’ and ‘World News Tonight With David Muir.’ ”

Another source close to the star — who is already a full-time MLB analyst for Fox Sports — said, “Alex is interested in doing lifestyle, family-oriented programing, such as a piece on how much your kids should be working out, or business and personal-finance reports, like how to overhaul your bills.” (That might not be a home run with viewers, considering Rodriguez was paid $317 million during his time with the Yankees.)

His MLB commentary would remain exclusive to Fox Sports, meaning he likely couldn’t appear on ESPN, but the insider said, “If there’s a big World Series story to discuss, you could see A-Rod on ‘GMA’ talking about the game.”

A third ABC insider added that Rodriguez — currently dating Jennifer Lopez, who has two shows on rival NBC — was already “part of the ABC family.”

He has been announced as a guest host on “Shark Tank” and has already co-hosted “The View.” After having discussions about expanding his role, he will appear on a variety of ABC properties, including “GMA” and has ideas about what topics he’d like to cover.

Reps for ABC and A-Rod declined to comment.

smart move for them and him.

ARod doesnt need the $ but this shyt will do wonders for his image. Something tells me he will win the popularity contest in the long run when it comes to him and Jeter and so many active players still love him the way the love Barry because they understand the science of hitting a baseball consistently with power.

Watch someone like John Cena get a gig similar to this. There's a very small number of athletes that actually know how to speak, have a "look," still appeal to the kids (and bytches) and still make you care about their personal lives

Most players don't give a single fukk about Jeter vs A-Rod. Most people don't outside of a minority of Yankee fans still hung up on it.

Anyway, good for him. Just keep him away from anything political. His donations and fundraising history is

best way to make the media forget about any red flags from your playing days is to join them. randy moss, cris carter, shyt even john kruk was known as a lazy, moody fat ass

"It was spring training, and John Kruk was significantly overweight.

He was also drinking beer and smoking cigarettes. A woman recognized him, and she approached him. 'You should be ashamed of yourself. You’re an athlete,' she said.

Kruk responded, 'I ain’t an athlete, lady. I’m a baseball player.'"

now he's just a lovable chubby guy on ESPN

breh as long as him and Jeter are fukking bad bytches and the Yankees still find a way to make $ off of them (they made a ton off of ARod) then people will care. You don't just get ride of 13 years of underlying fukkery between them two just like that

he's donated a ton of $ to the U. he's always welcome here:blessed:
He's also donated to the likes of Giuliani, Gingrich, and McCain and hosted fundraisers for Romney and Ted Poe. He needs to be kept away from politics in this gig.

(He didn't support Trump though, so I guess there's that.)

The media tried to make A-Rod vs Jeter happen again a few weeks ago off a planted report about that awkward interview and it was DOA compared to even minor fukkery outside of pockets of Yankee fans still clinging to it.

There's no juice anymore. Everything expires eventually.

When you make the money A-Rod makes, you're Republican by default.
