I was speaking moreso about media preception of them after games where they struggle or year to year it always seem like they have to prove it. With them i stay hearing about that "in year 3 you should know what type of QB he is or not" bs. While stafford/cutler aint nearly as scrutinized while having Megatron, Marshall, Alshon etc.

You're right, but Smith was given every opportunity and got pretty good situations at the end of his career. Remember, dude been in the league 9 years and was a starter most of those years. No QB gets that many opportunities.
Not saying VY is better. He isn't. But I wonder what he'd be like if he got 7+ years development of being "the guy". I think he would be better. I think damn near any QB would be better. Question is..would he/they be as good as Smith? Probably not but it's a possibility.
