Storm is strong black female lead that has overcome many odds and demanded respect from some toughest villains. She is literally the strongest black character in comic history, not only that she is female.

1) There aren't many black people in movies to start with, getting a young darkskin black person to play a powerful confident storm without falling into stupid stereotypes would resonate with many.
2) Getting a mixed chick to play african goddess should scream out wrong. Why not have her play jean at this point? She is half white after all.
