Somebody else needs to step up and take the mic away. I think JB moneybags would be a good option but I can already see the usual suspects ripping him apart and knee caping in fall 2028 as untrustworthy because he’s rich. How can we fight the oligarchs while we elect him :damn:

How quickly we forget history too.

Forgetting that FDR also came from wealth, which arguably made him more prepared to resist the usual propaganda that comes from wealthy interests than Dem Presidents who did not, such as Obama and Clinton. FDR was actually considered a class traitor.

In some ways, I think politicians who come from wealth are more able to resist the "Meritocracy" bullshyt than those who did not.

I'm not sure people understand how successful the right has been at parodying California. Even people who dont pay close attention to politics are privy to it.

Whole damn election will be a referendum on the state, not a good decision from an electoral strategy standpoint.
Yeah, next nominee can't be from California or New York.

Anywhere else.

I wouldn't necessarily rule out New York.

From what I've seen, GOP hasn't focused their ire on NY the way they have Cali...but I could be wrong.

Somebody tell Bernie to include that on his next stop on the oligarchy tour :damn:

Let’s be real here - this is not the 1930s. There has been no evidence of this from any politician of that class on a national scale since then because instead of running they just handpick their candidates. All those people you’re talking about are the rich people candidates. What do you think fundraising is for? The only example of that anywhere in national office right now is the governor of Illinois pretty much and it remains to be seen how progressive he will really be.

I'd rather see Pritzker be the nominee than Gavin.

In an ideal world this would be good. He shores up his campaigns with his own money, is an excellent speaker, doesn't convulte ideas or whatever. Hes pretty straightforward with decision making and getting the points across. I think he could permeate some harder areas for Ds. He's also fat. Plenty of fatties in rural and southern states. He will stump with a turkey leg.

However, he's better off remaining governor due to the shytty dynamics of Congress. He's got a super blue lock here where he can pass basically anything. That won't be the case in DC and that minimizes the effectiveness he will have.

I'd rather he continue to provide a better state and remain dedicated to protecting the population from Trump's buffoonery. Especially since every other neighbor state has shown their hand in their willingness to cozy up to Trump.

Wow. This is how it’s done. Bernie Sanders and AOC just perfectly explained how Trump and the Republicans shutting down the government will badly hurt the American people. This is a must watch.

As soon as AOC opened her mouth I immediately got the impression she took all of 3-4 hours tops in her riveting analysis of the cr. Skimmed it over, probably said meh I get the gist of it, im ready to vote no...

Im so sick of this charade in politics.

Posts like this show you have no credibility. The bill passed the House and Democrats voted against it 7 weeks ago. Then the Democrats added 1.7 trillion dollars to it so Republicans shot it down.

Bernie Sanders is a sell out:
Bernie Sanders not long before big donors told him what to say and how to feel, responds to a reporter:
“OPEN BORDERS?!”
That's a Koch bros. proposal. The idea, of course. I mean, that's a
‘Right Wing,’ proposal which says essentially there is no United States!!
It would make everybody in America POORER, you're doing away with the concept of a Nation State!
And I don't think there's any Country in the world which believes in that? (Yeah, just wait)...🙄
"If you believe in a Nation State or the COUNTRY
called the UNITED STATES or
UK or Denmark or any other Country, you have an OBLIGATION in my view, to do everything we can to help poor people…. (Here).
What Right Wing people in this Country would love is an open border policy, bringing all kinds of people work for 2 or $3 an hour!! - Bernie Sanders 2015
"That would be great for them. I don't believe in that!" - Bernie Sanders
2015

@lukereefwalker
Wouldn’t that be a great pair, president and vice president?
we would have a beautiful socialist country, taxing the wealthy, taking away their billions of dollars spreading it around to the needy people, who would make much better use of it than these billionaires who create corporations, millions of millions of jobs, products that we all need, etc.… We should instead be impoverishing, these billionaires, eliminating private property, socialize healthcare , and letting the government decide on everything about your property, your business, your health, childcare, you name it… The government would do a much better job than all of these greedy capitalists who create so many choices and so much opportunity for individual wealth, which is such a terrible thing. If we just made the country socialist, and get rid of the Republican Party once and for all so we only have one party, and no one to disagree, it would make everything so much better, it would cure all the envy, we would all get along beautifully. We would all be equal! And besides that, we would finally end the use of oil and finally have perfect weather!
how could anybody not think that Bernie Sanders and AOC and “Democratic socialism“ represents our only salvation to save our country and democracy!!

36/37
@mart49799
The House Passed the CR. Three democrat senators voted with the Republicans to pass the CR, only 3 more democrat senators are needed to pass it , only a useful idiot would say Republicans are shutting government.
