I listed a TON of promises she'd made to Black people. Did you not read the list already?if they cant make any legitamte promises to black people then what are black people excited about?
But what is he specifically promising to White people, since that's so important to you.george bush's political existence is basically a promise to keep things white
What are these "promises" to Puerto Ricans and other hispanics? Immigration stuff? That's not "specifically" about hispanics, that affects black people and everyone else too. Addressing Puerto Rico's massive disaster? Does that mean that anyone who addressed Katrina relief, or Haiti, was "specifically" to Black people?she is making specific promises to LGBT and puerto ricans and other hispanics, and nowadays all politicians make a specific promise to protect isreal which is a specific promise to jews
Since the invasion of Iraq in 2003, the United States has entangled itself in war and occupation throughout the Middle East and North Africa. As of 2018, we are currently involved in military action in Libya, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen, Pakistan, and Somalia. Hundreds of thousands of civilians in these countries have been killed either as collateral damage from American strikes or from the instability caused by U.S. interventions. Millions more have fled their broken countries, contributing to the global refugee crisis.
America should not be in the business of destabilizing countries. While we may see ourselves as liberators, the world increasingly views us as occupiers and aggressors. Alexandria believes that we must end the "forever war" by bringing our troops home, and ending the air strikes that perpetuate the cycle of terrorism throughout the world.
Here she is at a Black Lives Matter rally last year:Mass incarceration is the latest iteration of a long line of policies (Jim Crow, redlining, etc) rooted in the marginalization of African Americans and people of color. Comprehensive criminal justice reform is part of the work that must be done to heal our past and pursue racial justice in the United States.
Alexandria Endorses:
The Pretrial Integrity and Safety Act of 2017 (S. 1593/H.R. 4019)
The Arbitration Fairness Act of 2017 (H.R. 1374)
The Justice is Not For Sale Act of 2017 (H.R.3227)
Democratic socialist and "socialist" aren't the same thing. It's like elephants and elephant seals. There's no public control over the means of production there. It's certainly not Marxist.you can call yourself whatever you want but this list
Medicare for all.
End private prisons.
Justice system reform.
Federal jobs guarantee.
Housing as a human right.
Free college education.
Campaign finance reform, Wall Street regulation reform, etc.
is essentially a leftist/socialist agenda and she herself call herself a democratic socialist
so regardless of what you consider yourself you have endorsed a "democratic socialist" agenda and are excited about it
What has she run on during her campaign SPECIFICALLY for Black people? :tariqelite:
Endorses Black Lives Matter, endorsed by the Black Lives Caucus, proposed specific criminal justice reform initiatives that hope to end disparities that hurt African Americans, ending US military violence in North Africa and specifically actions that promote destruction and terrorism in countries like Libya and Somalia.Yeah nothing, has anyone besides a Black candidate ever done that?
Ok then I guess TWISM can concede then. Thanks for correcting me.Endorses Black Lives Matter, endorsed by the Black Lives Caucus, proposed specific criminal justice reform initiatives that hope to end disparities that hurt African Americans, ending US military violence in North Africa and specifically actions that promote destruction and terrorism in countries like Libya and Somalia.
Not to mention that her initiatives in health care, college education, housing, jobs, etc. will all obviously be for the benefit of the Black community.
specifically she is like a puerto rican Kucinich, look him up
I listed a TON of promises she'd made to Black people. Did you not read the list already?![]()
.You're stuck on this "specifically" thing which is meaningless, even though when I challenge you to show that for anyone else you start juelzing
But what is he specifically promising to White people, since that's so important to you.![]()
Since she is practically the polar opposite of Bush, that means her political existence is a promise to not keep things White....and how is that not in Black people's favor again?![]()
What are these "promises" to Puerto Ricans and other hispanics?
“As a caucus, we should be championing the Puerto Rico ‘Marshall Plan.’ In my opinion, we should be championing the abolishment of ICE and if not that, focusing on broad-based immigration justice,” she said in a car after filming the Late Show With Stephen Colbert on Thursday.
The Puerto Rico “Marshall Plan” is a $146 million legislative package unveiled by Sanders and Sen. Elizabeth Warren in November that would provide financial relief for the government, and billions for economic development, renewable energy, and Medicaid and Medicare parity.
Velázquez, who introduced an identical bill in the House, said that she’s looking forward to helping not just New Yorkers, but also the people of Puerto Rico with Ocasio-Cortez. “I’ll look forward to working with her to aid our brothers and sisters on the island. This has been a major priority and passion of mine – before and after Maria – and, of course, I’m always glad to have more Boricuas in Congress.”
.Immigration stuff? That's not "specifically" about hispanics, that affects black people and everyone else too
Addressing Puerto Rico's massive disaster? Does that mean that anyone who addressed Katrina relief, or Haiti, was "specifically" to Black people?
And helping Israel doesn't "help" Jews here, that's a geopolitical alliance. A significant number of American jews are against Israel policy.

Cortez is endorsed by the Black Lives Caucus, while Crowley had done a meet-and-greet with Blue Lives Matter.
Is any of that "specifically" black enough for you, because it's just as "specific" as anything she says about hispanics?
Democratic socialist and "socialist" aren't the same thing. It's like elephants and elephant seals. There's no public control over the means of production there. It's certainly not Marxist.
I'm strongly in favor of ending private prisons, justice system reform, campaign finance reform, wall street regulation reform. You seriously against any of that? Have to be socialist to be in favor of that?
Our health care system is horrible, we obviously need something different, I don't know if Medicare for all is the answer but as Medicare already exists that's not some huge leap.
Similarly, we already have free k-18 public education, extending that to college isn't some giant leap. Plenty of non-socialist countries (Germany and Australia aren't even Democratic Socialist in anyone's minds) have done it before with positive results.
I don't know much about the federal jobs guarantee or housing as a human right.
A trailblazer. Ahead of his time.![]()

The Justice is Not For Sale Act of 2017 (H.R.3227)
So immigration reform is "specifically for Hispanics" even though only about 50% of immigrants are from Latin America (and even some of the ones from there are Black), but prison reform isn't "specifically for African-Americans" even though at least 50% of those suffering from unjust sentencing are Black. Riiight.
Notice how he ignored literally everything here except to say, "justice reform isn't specifically for blacks" and "it's just an endorsement."

justice reform platform is not specific to black people its to black people AND people of color
But the vast majority of those affected are black people. Other peoples of color not nearly as much.
I looked up the numbers - only 45% of immigrants are Hispanic. 10% are Black. So it affects both groups.first of all the vast majority of ILLEGAL immigrants are from latin america, so the agenda to end ICE and grant amnesty is specific to hispanics
justice reform platform is not specific to black people its to black people AND people of color
She said EXACTLY that, I quoted it twice.then she should say that, I am for justice reform for black people
She added "and people of color", but when you're talking about Jim Crow, redlining, etc. you're obviously talking about Black people, and then she specifically said, "African Americans."Mass incarceration is the latest iteration of a long line of policies (Jim Crow, redlining, etc) rooted in the marginalization of African Americans and people of color.
