This girl isn't a replacement for anybody at least not yet. Alicia Keys' last album did in 1 week what her's did in total almost a year ago. What's hurting R&B artists is them distancing themselves from what made them in the first place. Alicia Keys' best work was her Hip Hop influenced brand of R&B co-produced by longtime partner Krucial Keys. The more she branched out from that sound, the more the quality of her music declined along with the sales. Same goes for Usher. His biggest song is a Hip Hop inspired club banger ("Yeah"), but he insists on making singles out "DJ Got Us Falling In Love" and a few others that sound like that.

Mrs. Beatz is set for life.

Singer, songwriter and actress Alicia Keys, born Alicia Cook, has a net worth of $45 million.

she may be :ehh: but if we don't hurry up and set up some type of African American Music School/Association (Where all the top flight black Artist) can train white folks our culture & we can have ownership and profit from it as black folks. (as in once the white people blow up i.e. Justin Timberlake) & they pay royalties etc. for the betterment of black people back into our communities then...we all are gonna end up like this video

being mildly successful while our white counterparts are Wealthy and give us lip service for our credit. (Macklemore bringing up Trayvon as an example)

Or just us 'bringing up old stuff' like the Egypt days...."you know we started this" :wtb:

right now we got the :dahell: face, we gotta wake up out of our surprised slumber and start 'think tanking' on ways to profit from our talents and gifts.

did what to ourselves?

it's nobodies fault that this white girl can sing really good. the fukk

Ya'll be trying to sound pro black sometimes but coming off mad awkward. this would be the equivalent of posting Jason Williams (white chocolate) basketball videos at the height of the And 1 movement, and making comments like "this is what happens when we don't control anything. we did this to ourselves"

like my nikka. stop..

it's not always some slight against black folks when a white person is good at something brehs. Ariana Grande making music isn't gonna suddenly turn every black female songstress into dust. :ld:
