R&B, Soul, etc. has been dying for years though IMO. I don't get the same feeling with artists of this generation, and even the previous during the 90's and late 80's as I did with Al Green, Isaac Hayes, Marvin Gaye, Barry White, etc. To me, cats like Usher never really did do R/B, they were always pop artists. Alicia Keys was never really R/B/Soul to me. She was always more HipHop than anything. I don't care how many records she sold, same with Usher or anyone else you mention that was popular for the past couple decades. That sh!t never compared to what was present during the late 60s to early 80's. It's been dying for the past twenty years. So it goes.
