Cyborg made robot Raylen Givens self aware with that "When is a machine not a machine?"(When it thinks for itself) line and now he's watching the kids/synths be machines that think for themselves and fukk up. I think his awakening came with the realization that Kavalier is stupid because of his arrogance from being a "genius"
Cyborg just knows that Kirsh was the obstacle to achieving his goal first time, is the most aware person on the prodigy side, and because he's a robot he knows he isn't going anywhere xenomorph or not so he's expecting to have to go through him.

I like the show but man the writing is quite shytty and lazy in parts
The way they have scientist continually do dumb shyt is lame and also the way this research facility is being run is a joke
Another gripe I had with episode is that right after they wipe Nibs memory they just put her back in her room to be reminded of what she's just lost by anyone, in this case Wendy. Which leads to more seeds of distrust for them both being planted. It's just straight up stupidity.

I agree with the memory wiping thing, but at the end of the day I'm enjoying most of the show.
I don't think the idea of a tech company cutting corners to make money and gain power to be far fetched. Look at how those in power treat science as tool to be used when convenient and disposed when it interferes with making money. They have no ethics if theres nobody to hold them to account. You know they'll put AI in charge of anything they possibly can, and If you put AI in charge of your secret interstellar parasite zoo things can go sideways.

Or it was done intentionally. Dame just watched her husband get fired for refusing to follow a direct order. Since she can’t outright retaliate, the next best thing is to do exactly what she was told, which was to erase Nibs’ recent memory and nothing else.
If this isn’t the case then yeah, it’s shytty writing lol.
