I'm thinking about copping a cheap Alpha R1 or R2 & upgrading parts to run emulators faster like Dolphin, PCSX2, & RPCS3 instead of on my laptop.

Anyone using or have any experience in using them for this? I know these run Steam games pretty decent as is

Cemu which is a Wii U emulator looks like it runs pretty well on the Alpha. This is on an i3 & an emulator build from 2018

Didn't get the Alienware Alpha R2 but copped the Hades Canyon NUC NUC8i7HV

Here are the specs & it's VR ready:

Intel Core i7-8809G - Quad-core processor
Base CPU Frequency - 3.1 GHz
Turbo Boost - 4.2 GHz
Graphics - 4GB Radeon RX Vega M GH
Max Memory - 64 GB
Networking - GbE 2x 1000BT / 802.11ac 2x2 + BT 4.2
Max Resolution - 4096 x 2160
Video Output - 2x HDMI 2.0b, 2x mDP 1.3, 2x DP (alt) via Type-C
I/O - 2x Thunderbolt™ 3, 5x USB 3.0, 4x USB 3.1

What makes this mini pc crazy is it has a quad core processor partnered by Intel & AMD; the first ever. I'm loving it so far & it runs the emulators listed above pretty much flawlessly (if the game's supported). I bought it barebone & added 16GB's of RAM & a 256GB M.2 SATA SSD with a 2TB external drive

I overclocked my CPU to 4.6GHz & it's been stable for over a week now. I'm running games, the RPCS3 emulator, & Yuzu (Switch) emulator at ultra if the games supported pretty well. This is thing runs nice
